I will say "o rly" again because Ablett spoke quite highly of Crowls when interviewed last week on "on the couch". Selwood (from memory) said similar things.

Would really love proof? But whatever floats your boat...

He called him out on twitter for his dog tactics. So what if hes saying that now he is probably trying to atone for the stuff he said earlier this year.

Firstly, how does that make Harvey a hypocrite? I don't think you understand what that word means.

Although I'll easily admit that Thompson was a bit of a pest in the past, he's been completely absent of that behaviour since the Barry Hall incident which probably straightened him out (and may have scared the shit out of him, and rightly so. ;) ).

But Thompson didn't make his debut until 2008 so that's only 2 seasons (or less, considering he only played 6 games in 2008) that he was pestering anyone.

So I must ask, how does Thompson get the title of "the biggest pest the game has seen for a decade"?

It makes him a hypocrite because he plays with, and has captained, a player who has mowed over people doing their shoelaces up off the play, repeatedly niggled, nagged and punched his opponents for his entire career. It's hypocritical for Boomer to have a crack at Crowley when his own team mates do similar things, or even worse.

Crowley took Harvey to the cleaners so Boomer had a sook. So did Ablett jnr.

And are you actually suggesting Thompson has stopped with the niggle? All the Hall incidents taught him was to pick his targets a bit better. He still loves to drop his weight into players when attempting to spoil. He's a dick but he plays within the rules of the game and is a very, very good defender despite that.

It's more acceptable for a legitimate defender to engage in that kind of behaviour because it's happened since the dawn of the game (SOS was an expert). Midfield tagging is a more recent phenomenon so people think Crowley is some sort of pariah. He isn't. He's a bloody good player playing a role that I honestly cannot remember anyone else ever doing as well.

The clearest example I've seen of talentless, dog tactics is Steven Baker. What he admitted to doing on the field was a disgrace. Crowley has never been accused of anything in Baker's league.

Crowley clearly did something to upset him. Boomer has been beaten by taggers on numerous occassions and has said nothing. It is delusional to suggest he was complaining about nothing :oops:

As a bulldogs poster said before when he got towelled up by Picken a few years ago, he refused to shake his hand. The blokes a dog of a bloke who gets lauded while true gentleman such as Crowley are victimised merely because he's very good at his role.

So you guys are allowed to claim that harvey is a dog but i can't say that i don't like crowley? How does that work? And who lauds harvey he is frowned upon on these forums. If anyone lauds him its because he is twice the player crowley is or will ever be. Crowley plays tag he doesn't play football. He is very good at what he does but he isn't what you call a 'great footballer'.

No one said you could not like Crowls. Point is, there is more evidence to suggest he isn't a "shit bloke" as some are saying...

Actually, Ablett called Crowley out for being a tagger. Good for him, but it's not proof of anything except that Gablett hates being tagged.

Boomer's been beaten before, many times. He's acknowledged this. In nearly 20 years, why the hell would he just decide to lie about Crowley's tactics when he could have done it countless other times?

Thompson niggles less than your average defender, at the very least.

Yeah, Baker was a bit of a dick. No disputes there.

So in other words, you don't know what hypocritical means.

Explain. Boomer has held himself out as finding Crowley's behaviour as unacceptable, yet as a captain of his football club he has repeatedly turned a blind eye to similar behaviour from his own team mates.

Hypocrisy isn't limited purely to a situation where one person says something or holds a value and they themselves actively go against it. Though this has also arguably occurred in Boomer's case also.

Because he's becoming a bitter sook in his old age. Maybe he shouldn't have dropped Selwood in the 2012 EF either. It's a pretty common story that a fantastic player grows older and loses their influence and as a result becomes a bitter idiot or a sniper.

Thompson niggles less than your average defender, at the very least.
Completely disagree. Thompson is a serial pest.

If he'd said, "Crowley is a little bastard and it's unacceptable for his teammates to stand for it," I'd consider than hypocritical. Otherwise, I can't agree with you.

Boomer made no excuses for his actions against Selwood and has admitted a brainfade. As I said, he's been beaten many times before in recent years so why lie now? It just doesn't add up.

Completely disagree. Thompson is a serial pest.

I simply can't agree with this. In the past, absolutely. But in 2013? No.

For mine, I'm genuinely hoping that Boomer is in good form again next year... and we get to see Crowley walk over to him in the first game we play against NM next year.

I have no idea what'll happen, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Boomer up on a striking/rough conduct charge and Crowley laughing the whole game. And no pinching detected.

I have that game recorded.....no pinching detected!! Boohoo-mer's face is priceless as soon as Crowley goes to him. He just loses it and puts Crowley on the ground. Naturally, the maggot warns Crowley

Crowley is so far inside BooHoo-mer's head that he just goes to water as soon as Crowley gets there....maybe before that. Might go a long way to explain that massive 29 points they kicked. Clearly demonstrated why they weren't top 8 material
