hugh minson had 3 clubs that asked him but rules are u need 6. he will just be off to state screening

i think for the SHC boys Elliot is going to th draft camp and Raymond is going to the screening.

i believe Raymond is actually more likely to get drafted than elliot.

You continuely lose credibility RooDog. You idiot.

ok mole, give me your best reason that Elliot will get drafted and your best reason that Raymond wont...

by the way mole, credebility? 5 posts wont earn you jack mate so i suggest you are the one that shuts your mouth and backs up some of your statements with some evidence or at least some arguments

Hurley from Rostrevor will be going to screening. Bit of a surprise he wasnt asked out to the camp though after his 18s form

really.... thanks for sharing your opinion.

Elliot is a dime a dozen midfielder, who is an excellent player but has no stand out features which will not see him go highly in the draft... ive stated that in other threads.

Raymond is a player a club would take a punt on, these days clubs like players who are athletic and will take a punt on them... see the crows and chad gibson, essendon and mark bolton etc.... Phil is tall, a great kick, athletic and has a great vertical leap... someone will take a punt on him.

i give reasons i dont jsut go bagging people like you... who lacks the credibillity....

Why Elliot will get drafted
- SA u'18 state player who played extremely well at the carnival
- Captain of best school football team in the world(literally)
- Even though there are alot like him, he is quick, not short and has great potential to bulk up
- Hard at it

Why Raymond potentially wont
- Attitude problem - was dropped to 2nds this yr because of it
- Could be the next Laurence Anguin if you catch my drift
- Not a team player, hogs it around goals

Having said all this, he is a good player and i hope for his sake he gets picked up. However it would be a huge punt

can anyone tell me why quality players such as henry mason, brett king and brad currie arnt even going to the state screaning? this puzzles me. i know their underdogs but they have a lot of potential. your opinions are welcome.

quite tall but light as a feather. hes good as a tap ruckman playing off the bentch or a pocket. good skills but anything on the run could go anywhere, heard he went to the state U20s this year played reasonable footy but nothing special, a bit uncordinated, very fit as hes a very good rower. id pick other talls such as brad hasket or henry mason well before angus.

brad hasket is solid as a rock in defence and really quick for his size. loves to run and attack from CHB and is always a head ache for opposition forwards. has a great leap and big upperbody seen him take a few rippers this season and when the chance come round hes not afraid to throw his weight around. One on one hes a bit weak but hes a great attcking backman.

henry mason is the definition of utility, FB, CHB, CHF, FF hes even played off a wing! he stands 6 foot 5 and is incredibly fast for his size, his fitness is out of sight, one of the fittest at the club, and by far the fastest tall, easily beating a lot of the smalls, he jst runs opposition off their feet, huge work rate jst never stops. usually plays in defence but can kick a goal from 50 without strugling at all. also has a big leap and doesnt drop a thing, loves to attack from defence usually plays along side brad but has recently been resting due to a knee injury, this kid has a very bright future.

rwpace if they were that good the nthey would obviously have AFL clubs interested in them, ie, be going off to draft camp

Elliot did play well at the carnival but he wouldnt be the first player to have a great carnival and not get picked though. Being captain of shc usually is a boarder even they arent the best choice, does show he has leadership skills but for me he is a bit quiet on the field. I disagree about bulking up, i dont think he will.

Raymond, was dropped but came back with an improved attitude and played some excellent footy, about the angwin comment same was said about juniper and redden last year but once they were seperated they were fine, it would be the same with phil i believe. i agree with him being a hog, but some of the best players in the AFL are at times though.

ive seen a lot of this kid over the years and he is a good honest footballer, nothing more nothing less, doesnt set the world on fire, will probably play league footy one day but no higher i dont think.

Who do you believe would have made a better captain? He isn't that quiet and he has the upmost respect from all the SHC boys and he leads by his hardness at the ball and they way he goes about his football. Isn't this just as good or even better than someone who talks? Why don't you think he will bulk up? He is still slightish and i have no doubt that with a pre season in the gym of an AFL club he would DEFINATELY put on extra muscle.

As for Redden and Juniper. Redden has hardly set the world on fire this year for Glenelg and i personally would be suprised if he got picked up. Juniper i can't comment on becasue i haven't seen him play but talking with Freo supporters, they are still very unconvinced.

i think u have something against sam.... u obviously dont like him b/c any college player would say he is out and out the best shc player... ask the taggers he gets every week.... as for his captaincy skills... u again jump to assumptions as u are not involved in any way, apart from a spectator, with the shc 1st XVIII. sam received more than half the day scholars votes as well as the boarders votes to be chosen as a worthy captain... his talk around the ground is inspirational as he gets to every player... b4 the game he doesnt shut up and he is one of the major arteries in the shc heart.. his dedication was shown wen he played out the last 5 gams of the year with torn ligaments in his ankle, barely able to put any pressure on it... dont say stupid comments on here b/c u can hide behind ur comp screen.. no offence to phil, and he is a good chance of taking his footy career to a high level, but sam is twice the player phil is... both players will get drafted but sam will go b4 phil

I dont know who wouldve made a better captain, maybe Cail, mind you most of his talking is just sledging at the opposition players.... He is hard at the ball is good and its great that he lead by example but just as a spectator he doesnt strike me as a great leader thats what i said and that he was quiet... and it was just my opinion that he wont put on any muscle, just like its your opinion that he will. I agree that Redden is highly unlikely to get drafted, but Juniper will spend another year on the rookie list so i wouldnt be surprised if he actually does go no with it.

all you SHC boys need to lighten up and realise there are much better footballers than Elliot thats all me and a few others are trying to point out.

and we agree.... no doubt sam will be a 2nd or 3rd round selection.. no one has come on here and said he will be anything more... but i think some ppl have talked him down even going as far as saying he will be rookie listed... i think (apart from pearce) going to draft camp is a good indication he is a fair player and has the interest of some clubs

maybe about the selection, its just my opinion im not sold on him yet that he will make it. Well the rookie list option is just because they dont think he will get drafted, but may still make it and be given a chance via the rookie list which would give him more time to develop especially if he goes interstate. Draft camp is a good indicator but there are about 70 going, normally only 45-50 of those get drafted though, you have to remember recycled players and players from state screenings as well... only time will tell if he gets drafted, i hope he does in a ll seriousness but like i said im just not sold on him.

what are your opinions flying joey, roodog, and kingneptune only thx on big hugh minson. Obviously he has a great potential to develope, will be going to state screening, but i have heard rumours that clubs might not take him this year and let him develope in norwood seniors next year and then take him. In my opinion he would be a great investment to take this year and therefore kill out the competition from other clubs. (his brother got taken straight out of school, although he was captain and best players of 1sts)

Any thoughts?
