It was such a demoralising loss that its hard to pick anything good out of it.I dont know what Chad Morrison was doing out there but it certainly wasn't playing football. Cousins worked hard as per usual but it's hard when your on your own I suppose. My votes go to the Eagles supporters who had the guts to stay for the whole match.:(

now that i have calmed down i can give you 5 players who tried hard, although none of their efforts were influential on the game.

5 - Cousins: lacked support but kept at it, not much changes

4 - Judd: at least Baker did not follow him to the toilet

3 - Cox: played well in the ruck but was terrible in front of
goal when the game was more within reach

2 - Fletcher: an improvement on last week

1 - Gasper: started well but didn't get too many chances

Pity Selwood got injured he would of got a vote had he kept up his impressive progress. Matera did his best with his limited possession of the ball and Staker and McDougall did show some courage and actually showed a few signs of rare physical presence, albeit, a long way from goals.

We will move on and forget this loss.

Remember we were beated by 81 pts in 2000 and the following week beat the dockers by 117pts. There is hope v Tigers

Put a smile on my face :)

nice to see lynch's sense of humour in such a big loss, although he was lucky not to give away free kicks that would of seen us 2 or 3 goals the worse than what eventuated

5 - cousins: the only one who tried when everone gave up.

4 - judd: awesome in the 1st half. Was in the goal square for most of the 2nd half.

3 - gaspar: Awesome early, and did some good things all day.

2 - cox: Like who cant dominate the ruck vs the saints.

1 - selwood: Awesome 1st half (how did he get injured?).

I think we got some matchup wrongs. Like Kerr on Guerra was stupid as was lynch at FB.

5) Cox
4) Gasper
3) Judd
2) Cousins though his disposal was ordinary
1) Lynch - I thought he at least tried hard

Other triers were Selwood, Nikoski, Staker and Jones

Players that not have been out there Chick, Wirra and McDougall.

Players that should never again be out there Morrison = pethetic.

Bring on the tiges!

I am fad up going to WCE games in Melbourne and seeing such a crap performance. No HART.

5 Cousins
4 Judd
3 Gaspar
2 Cox
1 Fletcher

Hard to take positives out of such a train smash but I thought Gaspar was a target at least, and Cousins tried his guts out (is he always our best player when we lose).

I hope McDougall learnt something playing on Reiwoldt in the last. McDougall was ok, but if he had that work ethic (of Reiwoldt) could be anything.

5 Cousins
4 Judd
3 Cox
2 Jones
1 Nickoski
-Thought the only positive to come out of the game was the effort of Nickoski and Jones (and selwood before he was injured)
-the coaching by woosh was very poor
- Waters needs as much experience as possible - we really need a decent small defender, throw him and butler in

5,4 and 3 all to McLaren what a joke he was. Kicked ya goals for ya

2 - Cousins feel sorry for him he will want to be at a melbourne club soon

1 - Judd Fast and gets a lot of it he was ok.

5. Cousins:
4. Judd:
3. Cox:
2. Selwood:
1. Lynch

Tried hard: Gaspar, Bones, Staker.

Everyone else can have a negative vote or two.

Why don't you just **** off? Obviously never heard of being a good winner have you?

Hard to give votes when no one really did anything of note. Midfielders played around with the ball too much, and probably don't deserve any votes. I'm gonna base mine more on who played above themselves than who was our most influential (was anyone influential?).

5: Gaspar - Went in real hard, put up many contests, and even though on TV his influence might have looked small, he was pretty impressive
4: Nicoski - Got caught several times, but atleast he was one of the few who actually KICKED the ball rather than handball it
3: Staker - For not taking a step back despite taking a few heavy knocks. Unfortunately, took one knock too many, lets hope he's alright.
2: Braun - Not considered as classy as our other midfielders, but he works his ars3 off and has done more this year than Kerr and Fletcher.
1: Cox - His taps were to our advantage more often than not, pity the midfield had no idea how to take it out of traffic

Hard to be a good winner when you're not used to winning. Leave him be, he's clearly a dedicated and passionate supporter...ever since the Saints started winning that is

:D Im kinda glad i didnt see the game, just kept track of the score. What happened to selwood?? i did see a small part of the 2nd and he seemed to be playing well

My thoughts are as follows:

1. That was the best performance I can remember seeing in a H&A game by anybody - St Kilda were awesome. Absolutely brilliant. They were skilled, quick, hard and right at it for 4 quarters. While BonIsGood should definitely f$#@ off, I agree the umpires were sympathetic towards us. Thank God. Also, everything Saints tried came off.
2. In the first half (now, don't laugh), I thought we played quite well, but we didn't get the reward for our effort on the scoreboard for two reasons, both of which are our own fault:
a) we miss easy chances and don't make the most of our possessions to score goals
b) we let the other side score too easily and quickly
3. The second half and particularly the last quarter was unacceptable to a club like the West Coast Eagles whose values are passion, professionalism and leadership. As the expression on John Worsfold's face at the end amply demonstrated.

Votes:
5. Judd
4. Cousins
3. Cox
2. Selwood
1. Gaspar

Totally agree with everything VOR said- clinical demolition by St Kilda, today they were the windshield and we were the mosquito.

5. Cousins- Did everything you could ask of him, simple as that.
4. Gaspar- A real life marking tall forward, and he plays for us!
3. Judd- His usual classy self,
2. Cox- Worked his arse off, dominated the ruck, let himself down with a couple of bad misses.
1. Matera- Smart game from him on a tough day for a WCE small forward. Kicked his quota and set up another.

Lynch deserves votes, as do Braun, Selwood, and Bones.
