I'm certain that Hird's contract give's him copulation rights with all partners of the existing senior list. Do you think the viagra that we read about in Caro's articles was for the players? No. it was for Hirdy. You see, he's playing the long game and after a brief stint on the sidelines after this saga (all planned), he'll be appointed coach again in 17 years time, when he will be coaching 18 unbelievably talented young men all acquired under the father son rule.

This is brilliant, haha. He and Dustin will be able to start their own league - first 3 teams "The Hirds" "The Fletchers" and "The Daveys"
 
Eddie has made no secret of the fact that he hates AFL.. he hates the unfair salary cap.. he hates the expansion clubs..

I reckon you could just about talk him into bringing the Pies into a new comp with us.

I also think you could get St Kilda and the Dogs.. who are getting screwed by the stadium and fixture deals currently. WCE would happily ditch the AFL, they have been on edge since the whole drug saga over there. I don't know if you would bother with the northern states for the first couple of years. And you could bring in an Adelaide composite side.

Start with a 6-8 team competition.. including the two biggest clubs in the land.. aired exclusively on fox sports.. it might go very nicely.
 
I disagree that the EFC are 'losing' the PR battle... we were never really in with a chance tbh. The media had already lined up against us for 6 months before we even fired a shot back. From there we were always chasing tail. The club stupidly believed that the report would vindicate us and it would all end at that. Perhaps a fine and slap on the wrist for the governance stuff..

In the end we have been screwed over and the AFL looking for a scalp to justify the last 7 months of media beat up.

Mob mentality does NOT mean strong legal case.

The problem is that if a deal is done now.. the AFL look like idiots.. so very hard to see a compromise being reached. First step will see EFC asking for 'more time' to prepare a defence. This won't be heard until Sep imho.

The more AFL/ASADA leaks the better it is for Essendon if it ends up in court. Could make a case to have all charges thrown out completely and then the AFL would have to appeal to re-open. By then a new CEO may just blame it on Demetriou and move on.

With the tribal mentality of AFL, supporters are always going to say 'Oh that Dermie prick from Hawthorn is a tool' but the biggest **** sticks in the AFL quite often appear to be those associated with Carlton (apart from Parkin); they're the common denominator. Just total brainless fools.
 
I still struggle to believe that they have a thread solely devoted to another team.
