On a similar note, and I am a cyclist, but if Essendon was on the same gear that we're alleged to be on in 2012 and participating in le Tour, we'd be last. If WADA/ASADA wanna flex their muscles and be the heroes, there's your platform waiting for you.

There's no way chris froome's not on something. But good luck proving it.

The allegations will stop now that the French got a stage win.

French press have been big on drugs seeing that no Frenchman has won the tour since Hinault.

ASADA is going for low hanging fruit. Last time there was a drug scandal in cycling they just went to the homes of just about every Australian cyclist riding at an international level and asked to be told "everything they (the cyclists) knew" about the drugs. No proper investigation, nothing. To no ones surprise no one got caught. Cyclists are smart about it and ASADA are pretty dumb.

Here's the thing: Robinson is suspended, Dank is sacked, Robson has resigned; Hird is still coaching, Reid is still practicing.

Would the players listen to and play for a guy who breached their trust in one of the worst way imaginable for an athlete?

Look at scenes from after the Freo game. Does that look like the way anybody would treat a guy who exposed them to untested and potentially career ending drugs?

We might not be able to get facts from the media, but we have our own eyes and ears to tell us what might be happening.

This just needed to be repeated... as if ANY player would show the heart and determination that ALL our players have shown after finding out or believing their coach had betrayed their trust and potentially put their careers at risk of not only bans but smeared for life as a 'drug cheat'.

Hird may yet face demons and have to face the true reality of all this mess but I feel is nigh on impossible that he will be sacked for this. I just can't see it and I wouldn't agree with it for a second. Hird is the right man to lead this footy club, he believes it, the players believe it and I think the club believes it. End of Story.

Not that im aware of,hes just a bloke that follows Footscray and like every one else has an opinion.

Correct.
Born in Willy hospital.
Lived on Droop St then round the corner on Geelong Rd in my early years.
Bought by first junior membership in 1976 (dons defeated dogs by a point at WO first round).
Had many mates from Avondale Heights who were all mad bombers fans - and we still catch up many decades later at dons vs dogs games.
I'm also a mate of hirdy's old man and played some footy with a very young hirdy.

Carowhine has backed off a bit from the "sack Hird" and is now going with the "he should be suspended". If she really is acting as the AFL mouthpiece on this, then maybe that's an angle the AFL are looking at?

Could someone please clarify what Hird is being accused of having done that is deemed worthy of him standing down or being sacked ?

Being the mastermind of our allegedly ASADA sanctioned supplements program. The only way I can see him being sacked is if the AFL specifically warned him not to go down that path or if he knew Dank was using a loophole and went along with it anyway.

Again if you look at the way the players have supported him throughout the season, it doesn't really look like the sort of things you'd expect if he'd been responsible for giving players potentially dangerous, illegal, and career ending drugs.

If the AFL had warned Hirdy, or suspected we had gone down this path. Why weren't Essendon players target tested regularly for any illegal peptides? It doesn't add up.
