Sam Kerridge Spud Shield 2016

Oh shite....thats right !!

The ironic thing is that I have the man whose name cannot be mentioned in my SuperCoach team. He's just reached his peak price, which means he should be traded this week... BUT I'll probably make him Captain!

Probably add ZMerrett to that.

I'll take Narni cos hes so underdone and I'd be rapt to see him play well (in a crushing loss).

Having sat through the game I still don't know who most of their players were. One I liked was #3, Darcy Parish, I think. Very busy. I hope Robbie Nahas was watching how he went about it.

Big game this week for NMFC. Playing against the blues, who have Sam Kerridge on their list. I'm sure he will be the winner of his own award, if Bolton just plays him forward. I suspect this was also the reason we won our R1 clash with the Crows. No fire power for them!

I'm super worried about Jones. Has been kicking a lot of goals for the blues lately and without casbolt will get his chance to show how good he is and not a spud at all

I'm not worried about him as such, but his problem has always been above the shoulders. He certainly has the talent and I'd prefer he wasn't playing us at a time where he has been gaining confidence, but we have only ourselves to blame if he gets off the hook - especially without Casboult there.

Anyway, Kerridge award is for Kerridge. No possible alternative this week.

Don't be so despondent, Mr Despondent. Try to look on the brighter side. We were told last year that Jones has the yips and no tank and is therefore a complete spud that we DO NOT WANT.

Come to think of it, he'd be a perfect nominee, except for the presence of the one and only Sam Kerridge in the Blues line-up.

I can't help it Mr Reliable. I can just see Jones kicking a big bag and we will go down and that will be the end of it.

I spose though that if we do lose it takes the pressure of a bit.

As I said to my psychic the other day, at least when we lose a game the pressure's off and we'll be one game closer to our next win. He agreed but then he said you'll also be one game closer to your next loss to, though. Which made me feel even more down.

I spose that's what they call a 'no win' situation. If you lose, well, you don't win and if you win, you really don't win because youre close to your next lose if you can see what I mean.

I said this to Sebastian afterwards but he just smiled at me and said nothing.

So its Jones for me for the Kerridge. Although at the dogs I always thought he looked like a footballer, just never managed to play like a footballer

And by the way I wish I'd been here when we played the suns. I'd have tipped Grant for the Kerridge, because when he was at the dogs, he neither looked like a footballer or ever played like a footballer. I expect he was quite good at something else though, even if it hasn't been invented yet.

Just helping Mr. despondent out here by the way. :D

Not since Greg Norman won the Greg Norman Holden International golf tournament had a sportsman taken out an award named in his honour.

I'm looking forward to Kerridge presenting himself with the green jacket at the end of the game.

Outside of sports........

I expect similar scenes in the Carlton rooms post game on Saturday night for Kerridge.

Im backing a quinella: Kerridge to continue the torture he inflicts on us defenceless mortals coupled with Armfield to play defensive forward and kicking 4 goals while keeping Atley to under 12 possies.

Am confident the Counting Crows sung about Mr Jones and the desire to be a 'big ,big star' and flamenco dancers which I think was directed at Mick Malthouse.

But yeah I share your concerns, lucky I've taken my happy pills.
