Bloody Adelaide. We've been so good to them.

To be honest I'm far from convinced we won this trade. I rate Kerridge very highly, whereas Menzel has a lot of improvement to show in attitude, workrate, etc..... all things Kerridge has in spades. Time will tell.

Kerridge is a quality player, but the Crows midfield is a tough one to crack into at the moment so he didn't get as much opportunity as he deserved, and was starting to fall behind some of the younger guys like Knight and Atkins. And with picks 9 and 13 in the draft, you'd assume we'll get at least 1 more quality midfielder there, too.

Kerridge no superstar (except against the Roos, of course), but he'll be a solid contributor so you at least know what you're getting from week to week. From the Crows point of view, if Menzel turns potential into actual performance then it'll be a big win. If not, it'll be disappointing but the harsh fact is that we have a number of players of Kerridge's ilk, so we can probably afford the gamble even if it doesn't pay off.

Don't kid yourself. Menzel will be a star for you guys.

Not that I have any authority to dictate to BF posters, but I think it would be nice if we could leave out any Menzel angst from this thread.

Welcome Sam, hope we give you opportunity to flourish and you give us good service.

I've only seen a little of Sam, but Crows fans seemed genuinely perplexed he wasn't getting more games this year. Runs both ways, extremely fit, solid body, can tag if needed (not that we need) and likes a goal.

I will miss Tom Bell, but it seems Sam could make a good replacement. Hard-running, goal-kicking HFF/part-time mid.

No pressure Sam, but nothing less than this each time you step on the park...

I wasn't perplexed about him getting AFL games as I go to most SANFL crows games and he did some things that I can understand why the club were not happy with him and he needed to work on. In one game soon after coming back from injury he was told to come off the ground for rotation/rest and he kept refusing that direction in a game, not once or twice either. Our runner is one of the Gowans from Centrals (9 time premiership player) and not someone you say no to! He was performing okay to well towards the end of the season in the SANFL being the main player the opposition were tagging, but he had Grigg and Cam Ellis-Yolmen performing better through the midfield than him with all of them pushing for selection for that one spot as the sub that Lyons seemed to be making his own.

He is a good all round player with an excellent endurance tank. He actually beat Nathan Van Berlo's 3km time trial record this year, which has stood for a very long time! Nothing really outstanding to make him a star player but will be a very good composed AFL player for your team I predict. He can play a number of different positions with a nice balance of offensive and defensive side to him.

I'll miss taking photos of him at training ;)

He served us well and hope we shines for you guys! Really is an underrated player and deserves a spot in the 22 for sure. Also, Loved how it was a good and clean trade without disputes and both teams got equal returns.

All the best for next year lads!

Can we come up with a nickname for the bloke, Kerridge doesn't roll off the tongue so nicely. Is it Kez, Ridge or what.
