Love the report on the news that he'd only just got back from overseas after visiting many countries in Asia, how are people with his criminal record allowed to leave the country whenever they feel like and even get into other countries?
Unless there are active controls in place to prevent him leaving (bail/parole conditions, family court matters/debt) and he has served time for previous offences, it’s quite difficult. You can’t deny an Australian citizen leaving ot departing the CoA.

As for countries in Asia, entry into some of them does not have anywhere near the same enforcement we employ on travellers with previous criminal activity.

Arrived in Milan late one night and they had one old guy stamping everyone's passport and zero security around.

Back in the country less than 24hrs?
Who knew he was back & wanted him dead?
How did they find it out?
What method did they use to track him to the serviced apartments?
Why did they kill him?
How was the killing organised?
Where is the killer now?

Going to cost an arm and a leg to investigate this.
VicPol won’t want revenge killings either.

What a mess.

I’m tipping if not already, the killer will be headed overseas in the next few days.
That sounds like inside information was passed on.

He might have been spotted at the airport coming back in to Australia, word travels real fast when celebrity or notoriety lands.

I used to work in there.

Or his girlfriend has told someone where they were.

Yeah they managed to move quickly.
Official source overseas or Australian
Airline / travel agent source
Permanent spotter at Melb Airport arrivals international & domestic baggage reclaim (sounds unlikely they’d have multiple terminals surveilled 24/7).
Family or friends accidentally telling someone they shouldn’t
Emails / phones hacked & travel information obtained.

Back in the country less than 24hrs before requiring a pine box ….the organiser of the murder was well prepared for his arrival.

Killer(s) probably dumped the car and headed straight to the airport to fly interstate and then caught earliest flight out of the country given that both the police and gang members would be after them.

Why is it not good? We give so much airtime and column inches to these people (like I am now), they're scumbags.
If we look at the human element of things; friends & family. Plus the gf was there to witness the murder.

Then we have the risk of innocent people being killed or injured in the hit or subsequent getaway.

So I’d say it isn’t good. It’s not the Wild Wild West.

Maybe he posted on social media that he was coming back. These people aren't smart, that's why they either end up dead early or getting locked up.
Perhaps. Would have to say unlikely though. That’s effectively reading his own death warrant before execution.

He was halfway there already though doing some security work for a fighter and managing to get pictured in the papers a few months back.

Family and friends know what he is / was, the gf certainly would have. I used to work at Barwon Prison and the amount of smoking hot (albeit, mostly dumb) women that came to visit these scumbags was staggering. All of them live in a completely different world to what you or I might be used to. It was so foreign to me that in the 4 years I worked there, I never really comprehended it.

It's the wild west to them, that's their reality.

Media coverage doesn't elaborate on his criminal dealings

Was he involved in drug trade, tobacco wars?
I was wondering the exact same thing. What has this guy actually done.

Other than killed an innocent elderly woman but obviously we don't care about that..

Allegedly lured to his execution a rival who happend to be the best mate of the person who allegedly from his overseas base arranging for tobacco shops to be blown up. Swapped sides often. From all reports snitched on his mates. Had it coming big time.
