Sandilands Dilemma

Is anyone thinking of Jolly as a downgrade option? Was very good last week in the VFL and shuld play this week.

Had some time off and will only get better as Collingwood approach finals.

Is he going to sit in your R2 spot for the rest of the year?

He's managed 6 tonnes from 29 games since joining the Pies.... I'd be a little hesitant if you're going to be expecting decent scores from him. And like Ed D mentioned, he's coming back from a bit of a layoff, so he may be used sparingly.

I'd either all the way down to a rookie or something or sideway trade to a ruckman scoring well atm rather than to a midpricer coming back from injury. dlanod wrote a good post in the previous one to this, that should give you a good idea. :thumbsu:

Yeah, I have given Jolly a thought or 2...
I have a different situation.
I have Cox....Smith...Mumford and Derixxk..
With 1k in the bank I was thinking of trading Mumford to Jolly..
What do you think? Good side trade or same ol'...same ol'?
(note, lets hope that Derixxk gets the call up, so I can save burning a trade)

Since he is not having surgery I may hold onto him in the hope he kills it the last 4 weeks. I dont have enough trades to stuff around. MY only worry is he hurt himself after 4 weeks off is 4 weeks enough for the same injury?

I have Cox, Griffin, J Tippet, Sandilands with Petrie in the FWDS.

I only have 5 trades, I have no need to trade anywhere else for now. Downgrading him and upgrading etc takes me down to 3. IF I dont trade for the next month 5 is better then 3 lol

I am going to downgrade Sandilands to Matthew Lobbe from Port Adelaide. :D:thumbsu:

He is a ruck/forward too (MPP) and is only $196,000.

And now with Brogan retiring Lobbe will be the number 1 ruckman at Port. He also scored a handy 78 last week which is a good first up effort from him for the year.

I will be able to get over $300,000 from the downgrade to go Toy > Fisher.

Jump on the Lobbe bandwagon everyone. :D:thumbsu:

Spot on JM

Thats almost exactly what im doing

sandi to lobbe
duigan to fisher

Tough call because you'll cover the donut if you trade, but you'll most likely be worse off for the rest of the season. I'd consider copping the donut.

jolly is sc for depressing
have a jolly ol donut instead and save the trade for your next donut dialema your ruck here is complete

I have Cox/Sandi/Smith/McCauley - For one of the half of the comp that doesn't already have Petrie, I'm thinking Sandi - Petrie, even though I don't have any mpp, he's got a bye + Im paying way more than 216K. He's playing good footy scoring well. Jamar, Griffin also in the mix. You'd have to doubt the big guy will find the early season form if he gets back at all.

Why why why. I am thinking Sandi-->Tippit and start Smith. I need the cash but I know it's a stupid trade. Is it worth a risk!!???

Kurt Tippit btw.

The big question is will Sandilands be back in four, will he not break down again. He did the first time why will the second be any better. Will Freo still be in finals contention or will they lose every game and just rest him for next season. And if they cant make the finals will he be rested round 24?

ditch him and spend money on someone reliable keep smith, cox

you'd only keep him if you had cover and were down to your last 3 or 4 trades.

I've narrowed it down to a straight swap to either or McEvoy or Goldy - leaning towards McEvoy because I already have Petrie and North have the bye to come. I could also keep Petrie in the ruck and trade in Lobbe, spending the money elsewhere. Its a tough call.

McEvoy and Goldy go head to head this week. I reckon they will restrict each other's scoring a fair bit. Dont want to sit on it but thats an option too. what to do?

I really can't decide what to do... 4 trades left and with Sandilands, Cox, Smith and Derickx I will have a 0 this week. My original thought was do I dump Sandilands for the cheapest playing rookie to salvage 40 points and then put some decent $$$ in the bank for my last trades, or do I just wear the donut this week and run with Cox and Smith for the rest of the year and hope Derickx gets up for some bench cover?

I would take the donut, no league games next week and you can review your situation better for round 17.

My potential options for the Sandilands Dilemma:

R:
Cox Sandilands (Smith & Bailey)

F: Pavlich ROK Sylvia Goodes Franklin Roo Smith (Darling, Knights & Richardson)

Options:

1. Bench Sandilands and play Smith/Bailey using trades elsewhere

2. Downgrade Sandilands and play Smith/Bailey/Other. Use one trade elsewhere

3. Trade Sandilands to Petrie/J.Tippett and downgrade
Darling/Knights to the other MPP. If I bring Petrie and J.Tippett in it also gives me a fairly strong F7 when Cox is back and more cash.

Any thoughts in this thread

That's what I'll be doing. Sandi to Petrie this week. Then next week Krakeour to J.Tippet. Petrie plays as R1 this week and then slots into F7 next week when Cox returns.
