First off he is a gun and richmond are looking to draft him with a late pick in this years draft, but that looks unlikely at the moment because with every game I watch him play he keeps getting better and better, and it looks as if he will go late 1st round or early second round. The kid is a ball magnet and he plays like he has the ball on a string, He is getting BOG after BOG in the aps this season, is there anything this kid can't do

This kids a star number 3 for xavier right??? played against this guy 3 weeks ago, its not so much the fact that he is a ball magnet but its what he does with the ball when he gives it off. 3 times in the 2ndQ he won the ball out of the middle drilled the ball no higher than head high 40+meters straight onto a xavier forwads chest, by doing the same thing 3 times showed that it was no fluke, the kid can play, plays Northern knights does he not ????

Yeah that Sanfillipo is an absolute gun!
Yeah he plays Northern Knights and is Xaviers star player, to bad he has suffered a ankle injury that saw him on the side lines for Xaviers 98 point win over Carey.
He will be back to his usual best in no time.
He is resembles a Player by the name of C Judd.

He is one of the best onballers in the comp. Foot skills are impressive and he has clean hands at ground level. I think he is most dangerous when he is changing into the forward line because of his remarkable vertical leap. he outmarks taller players with his spring, but also kicks a few crumbing. Great player - not sure about his defensive running, but if that improves he will be a valuable pick this year for any club. I hope Melbourne get him, we lack polished onballers.

He will be lucky to be drafted. He didn't even make the initial Vic Metro squad, meaning that there about 50 kids in Victoria alone who are better than him.

His APS form will benefit him, especially as there would be scouts keeping an eye on Xavier this year, although he needs a big game against the agsv, and a strong tac finals campaign to be looked at seriously.

Nope, Sanfillipo was injured when the Vic metro squad played its pracky.

Thanks, I didn't know that, do you think he would have had a chance at making the team if he was fit?

Making Vic Metro doesn't mean everything and he will have plenty of other oppurtunities this year. However he seems pretty similar to other Vic midfielders like Nick Smith, Leigh Adams, Michael Rockfellar, Dean Kelly, Ryan Anderson who were rookie listed or passed on.

Yes, he's probably in the same bracket as the ones you mentioned. Nick Smith, Rockerfeller, Sam Sheldon - so likely rookie, but that's still a quality player.

Super player. I wouldnt say he has blistering pace but his verticle leap is remarkable and so when he goes forward is ultra damaging. kicked 4 in a half against scotch on a busted ankle that ruled him out against carey but expect him to be back better than ever. defensive running and manning up may be his downfall but there is no doubting his talent

Luke Ball didnt play vic metro, there was only one better than him that year.

outstanding reference alan smith. guru of the aps in my mind with ur clear concise information. i have one query for u "smithy" how did mr batten (should be ones player) go against carey 2s on the weekend? this kid has been plagued by injury and if some consistent games came through his body only god knows what the kid is capable of. care to elaborate "smithy"?

he probs got a kick or two, i dunno i watched the skevs bgs game though, ill find out form the horses mouth if ur really that interested, this is sanfillupo thread though, who is a chilla. along with ryan

How are you managing to post with a red card?
Like that bloke who played for Croatia in the world cup that kept getting cards and didn't go off!

Will be lucky to fall as late as the 3rd round in this years draft, he is the kind of player you go to the footy each week to just to watch. Same sort of player as Brett Deledio

Deledio is one of the most overrated players going around. I know this belongs in a different forum but cmon, the guys soft as margarine and i have on good authority that he is incredibly arrogant and up himself

ive seen him play on many occassions even through his jnrs. Nothing special alls i see is over confident, crying, whinging, acting little footballer who selfishly demanded the n# 3 guersy so people would think he was like deledio or judd. He probably went to the extreme measure of shaving his head. but the simple fact is that even though he may look prety. you cannot compare him to the greats of football such as deledio and judd. his unaccoutable, undisipline and never goes in for the ball. fergus browne was a sh*t load better then him probably still is if you got him siked before a game. Chris Smith is a fantastic player aswell i watched a couple of games this year and he looks like a classy footballer

class and skill of chris smith in the guts and sanfilipo in the forward line, smith is a much better footballer then him if you give him a chance. sanfilipo is only in there because of his dad and fact that his whinges if he doesnt get #3 and if his not in the middle, his exactly what i dont like in a footballer

quick response deledio = best talent ever to go throw the afl more so then judd could you imagine deledio playing for west coast along side judd with that amount of protection on a good side he d win a brownlow his team is in the rebuilding fase so he isnt starring played well on the w.e. though if his team is getting thumped every week its hard for one player to shine

every brownlow medalist for the past 10 yrs has almost come from a premiership side deledio is a star in a bad team

im mates with deledio and i can tell you from experience that he isnt arrogant is the opposite because of all the critisism he has lost alot of confidence if anything...his still 19 turning 20..country kid..the expectation is that his talent which is probably the best the afl has seen will win the tigers a premiership even though his the only one at the club thats any good

as we have learned from hailabury a team is greater the one individual superstar so you cant blame him

I am a fan of the guy but he is very over rated by xav's supporters he wont get drafted ,bad attitude, selfish player that gets found out at higher levels. APS is still just a school comp there are better structures for junior football around that instill better discipline and football structure than it . What I mean is that because the last 7-8 players in each aps football team are so far below the top 4-5 you get a lot of undisiplined football occuring because the good player tends to be more selfish and undisiplined when playing .Players that have played exclusively in the aps system have so many bad habits it's not funny. I know you will all get a bit precious over this but i have seen a lot of different systems and will stand by it . Dont overarate the APS. There are great players in it but the comp itself is not a great way to develop footballers.

What a ridiculous blanket comment.

Some teams have a big gap between the best and the last, but there are good sides in the APS - Caulfield, St Kevins and Xavier that are good all the way through.

You just don't know what you are talking about.
How about you go and see some games.
I've seen half a dozen APS games this year already!

You obviously dont know much about junior football. Its a known fact that the APS is the second strongest comp behind TAC. With teams going from 1sts to 5ths in most schools the depth of talent in the 1sts teams is very good. with the better players being of pretty much AFL standard. 20 or more boys were drafted or rookied to clubs last year. Tom Hawkins, Xavier Ellis best talent in australia. couple of AIS players running around this year aswell you can never downplay the strength of the APS system. JUDD (CGS) BALL (XC) DJERRAKURA (SC) OKEEFE (SKC) mate its a ridiculous comment alot more APS talent goes unnoticed aswell cause there committed they can play TAC

It is the second strongest comp in terms of talent. It is not the second stongest in terms of development of players etc ....it is 10 games long with no preseason no finals ,How can they devop players..??? major country leagues train for months on end before the 20 game season deveolping players teaching them conditioning them . You mention hawkins where is he from ?scholarship from the country ...talent developed in the country ,ellis scholarship from the country ,Djerrakura scholarship developed by NT instute of sport,Goddard , etc etc,etc what i am saying is it is a fine collection of talent but it is common knowledge that footballers go backwards playing aps football compared to tac they make the most of the education v's the football . Really they risk missing out on drafting by taking the school option but that is a life choice thats debatable, Hampden league, ovens and murray , gippsland div 1 metro, eastern etc etc are much stonger place to develop footballers then feed into tac than the aps sytem thats all I am saying.Love the APS , Love the talent in it .
Before any body comments please be sure you are not some one that has only existed in the APS system
