So why is Rocca being sued.

The action claims Campana was "defenceless" and that Rocca was engaged in "dangerous activity".

.....o_O

The guy who chucked it is also being sued - she rightly can sue anyone responsible for the ball being in the crowd - including whoever is responsible for the stunt.

And she deserves to win - going to a football game and sitting sedately in the crowd - you should not end up with a broken arm and be unable to work.

Only in America.
Actually its not just in America - its happened here before and probably will again. Its one reason why nets are erected behind the goals during the pre-match kicking for goal at AFL matches.

Something bad happened. I must find blame and make some money.
Actually, somebodys negligent actions caused me a broken arm which has stopped me from working. I need my medical bills and loss of wages covered.

Seems fair to me.

Being spectator at football game, I would be aware that sometimes the ball might find its way into the crowd. If I was prone to having my arm broken by a football, i should know by my mid-forties that I had seriously brittle bones and I wouldn't go to a football game, I would ensconce myself in a plastic bubble and watch the game on tv in my home.

So going to a sports event as a spectator and coping a broken arm is ok by you ?
the law may not work like this, but i would have thought by attending a sporting event, you are a chance to be hit by stray balls going into the crowd. if you don't like that, don't attend. it's the risk you take by attending

No the ball never goes into the crowd at a us football game - nets at the end zones ensure that. The rest of your post is obviously a piss take.

She expects more than $538,000 for future medical expenses.

This is the part that annoys me. Everything else is probably fair enough but then she just got greedy

And a "wage" until she returns to work which has already been a number of years.

It was not a stray ball - its was deliberately kicked into the crowd - big diff i think.
