Also I have about enough when it comes to the likes of Andy Krakouer, Kent Kingsley and Trent Knobel. It is such an insult they are on an AFL list. Andy has played some decent games for us but they are very seldom indeed. Kent was gone when he opted out of Skilled Stadium and boy he made the right decision to leave with Geelong flying

Clearly Krakouer divides tiger fans, which is why i started this thread. Opinions are like assholes, everyone's got one. Personal attacks from the likes of u and the 'spoodge' towards people who disagree with u merely highlight the failure of reason. Likewise, rigid hard and fast rules that all players must be treated the same and after X years you're out, is a sign of a small mind. People here complain we can't develop our players - if Andy Krakouer doesn't make it it is as much a failure of the RFC as it is his. He is a special case, and he has shown he can be at the least the cherry on the top of a good side, which despite appearances i believe we are still striving to become. Let me ask you this: how would Troy Bond's career have rated before he kicked 4 in a GF for the Crows? When the heat's on in a big game I'd much rather the ball in Kraks' hands than any of the 'athletes' on our list.
That's my final word, other than to say anyone who wants to get personally abusive is more than welcome to discuss the matter in person.

What part of the word 'Moore' makes you read 'Edwards'?? I just said Edwards will be a star. And re Meyer in his 3rd year - i was at a game in kraks' 3rd year where he was given the forward 50 in a flexible forward line structure we haven't seen since, and he kicked 5 goals in a match-winning performance. I struggle to recall meyer ever even getting five kicks.

How do you know Kraks has no improvement in him? Ask David King and you'll get a different answer. He can get fitter so he can get to more contests and use his hard-at-it approach and exquisite skills. He can become mentally stronger and bury the demons growing up with a villified dad in jail must give a young bloke. He can, at the age of 24, not 29, adjust to the demands of being a parent as well as a full time footballer, which he has had since he was 17. And I actually made other arguments than just Kraks' tackling, e.g. his goal a game average, his general pressure and great hands in packs, his excellent disposal, the fact he is a natural footballer at a club of middle distance runners, and I'll add another that your mate meyer could take heed of - watch the way kraks throws himself into packs. He might not be big but he is HARD.

And just in case you missed it, EDWARDS will be a STAR. MOORE is a DUD.

Please show me where I said we should keep Moore I never did. Comparing Moore to Krakouer is a waste of time and you know it. Comparing Krakouer to Meyer & Edwards is a much more viable comparison because they play similar roles at present i.e. smallish crumbing forward with occassional midfield appearances.

Now as for you wanting to keep Krakouer because he once kicked 5 goals in a game so to did Martin McGrath in his debut game, so lets get him back to the club if that is part of what you are basing keeping Krakouer on.

As for his 1 goal a game goal scoring average, great figures for a small goal crumber except when you compare him to other smallish forwards around the AFL. Look at Milne has an average of 1.9 goals a game from his 134 career games with a seasons best of 61. Jeff Farmer another small crumbing forward who applies great forward line pressure has a career average of 2 goals a game from his 223 games with a seasons best of 76 goals which came in his 6th season. Krakouer has a seasons best of 23, not exactly what you would call stellar figures now would you.

Now Krakouer might be a better tackler than those 2 but ask yourself this: What would you prefer from a small crumbing forward with 2-3 tackles & 1 goal a game on average or 2-3 tackles & 2 goals a game on average? Me, I would take the second option but you seem pretty happy with Krakouer so I know what you would take already.

As for the comparisons with milne and farmer, agreed, they have better stats. Farmer is a freak. Milne has played in strong teams and has pace that kraks doesn't. He also goes missing a lot and is a defensive liability. But if you can get farmer to richmond and make him 24 again i'm all for it. I'm not comparing kraks to players from other teams (wasn't it you who said we should stop looking at how other teams do it re richo/lynch comparisions?), i'm comparing him to players at richmond. marty mcgrath was a cheap shot and you know it. How about comparing him to another st kilda player, leigh montagna, who's been in the system about the same time and is only this year repaying the faith.
kraks was playing some decent footy before he got injured, and apparently had 23 touches for the burgs last week. He is easily in our best 30 and you need that many good players to be a good team. he knows his career is on the line and i thought he'd responded. he shouldn't have been dropped after the essendon game. he'd played well against the crows then kicked 2 against the dons. that should have been enough to give him a run at it to prove himself.
I've had enough of this thread. No one who thinks one way is going to be convinced the other. Time will tell. Either Kraks stays and flourishes, stays one more year and disappears or does one of those two at another club. Let's revisit in a couple of years when one side or the other can say 'i told u so'.

It's actually hardly anything above minimum wage for a senior player these days Tony. IIRC, ~$215K is the minimum before match payments for a senior listed player. Certainly somewhere in that region.

now way that is true rayzor $215k is about the AVERAGE wage - not the minimum - no was near!

krak was overpaid - no way near worth 250k a season.

Dyer, how can you include Raines? He almost won last years rising star then went straight to Ireland to represent Australia for 3 weeks (and was very good)

As he is still very young in mind and body he didnt get a sufficient break before resumming a full pre season. The jury is still out, but he is one young player that will be at the club for a few years yet.

Also i think to many are being to harsh on Chris Hyde.

yeah krak is a superstar he doesnt even get the ball. im not defending all of the guys on your list there but krak ... really, dont think he hits targets either, oh wait he doesnt have a chnace. same situation as danny meyer however danny meyer hasnt played 100 games for the club. when krak played against essendon he hardly even ran for any part of the game. his work ethic is terrible. good on you if you think de-listing the captain is a good idea too.
