I think we are very well run off the park. I just don't think we have enough supporters.

Please tell me what the club has done well off the park ?
1/ has it handled Laidley's contract fiasco well ?
2/ Did it handle the Canberra V's GC well ?
3/ has it handled the constant negative media speculation well ?
4/ has it dealt with the churn rate in membership well ?
5/ has it handled the Telstra Dome stadium deal well ?
6/ has it handled the on-going board division well ?
7/ did it handle last year's election and constitution amendments well ? ie. The no infamous broken fax machine.
8/ has it handled the loss of Friday night games well ?
9/ has it handled getting a "blockbuster" of their own well ? ie. Good Friday..

What exactly has this club done off the well in the last 5 years ?
In actuall fact, since Ron Casey's passing away ?

You must agree that the club definitely needs to address how our clubs operations are run.

The clubs who are in a good position are run well off the park.

Definately agree that the club needs to address how we are run off the field. I just don't agree that the answer is some highly complex business model, developed by the AFL branch of MENSA, that is only understood by an elite few.

If a $2 million increase is the magic figure, and we currently turn over $15 million then we only need to solve a <15% issue. (i'm not overly sure what our turnover is but i think it is about $15 mil). Looking at the total club it is not that big of a problem. If we are turning over $5 mill and we need to find another $2 mil then yes we have a problem, but were not. There have been plenty of sensible suggestions on here that achieve this figure, as well as methods that could be used to achieve them, that involve membership, attendance, sponsorship, share issues, social club, merchandise sales etc. Split the $2 mill further and we only need to find $500,000 in each of four areas.

Surely amongst our 22,500 members there are 9 capable of achieving this.

I Feel non-footy related revenue is an area we can improve on with assets like pubs so that we are generating more revenue. Target a growth area and build a big club that caters for gambling, bars, restaurants etc.

Good questions trev.

10/ has it handled our VFL arrangements well?
11/ has it handled the new 'member reps on the board' role well?
12/ has it handled the Gemba report findings well?
