With 2 rounds to go the worst Scotch can finish is joint premiers. No percentage in APS comps. Every other team has lost at least 2 games. Congratulations to Scotch.

If Geelong College defeat Scotch this week and Hailebury beat Xavier it means the premiership will be coming to Geelong in 2006, no matter what happens in round 3 of the finals.

Smart money is on Geelong, can't see any side breaking down this team.

That statement seems a bit silly seeing as Geelong have lost 2 i think and Scotch are still underfeated. Will be a great match though. And the same applies that if Scotch win as well as Xavier then Scotch are the premiers.

Thought people might be interested to note that in a tie the Cup goes to the Victor when the 2 clashed in the finals and int the event of a 3 way tie it will be a joint premiership. The results of the season past have been disregarded and there is no percentage or anything like that. Any Team could still win atm.

xavier won't win so thats just a stupid comment, neither will Scotch..
scotch only got over GGS by 30 points.. if that sort of performance is repeated College are bringing home the cup!

Good to see someone who understands how the finals system works

I agree if scotch played like they did that day they will lose. The situations are differant though . I think they went down to Grammar expecting to win and almost got done. I reckon they learnt thier lesson though and expecially from last weeks result will treat College with alot more respect.

I also would not discount Xavier seeing that Hailebury have lost their last 2 matches. Hailebury crumble a bit under pressure and it would of been quite a while since they lost consecutive games. Still are favourites but would not be surprised to hear Xavier beat them.

I think a both games will be close. The kinda games the finals football is made for. Will be exciting to watch.

In the event of a 3 way tie for the premiership, its done on percentage.
mate percentage has never been used in the APS before what makes u think it will be this year

You have it all wrong boys, there is no such thing as percentage in APS. If Haileybury beat Scotch next week and Geelong beat Xavier, then its a three way tie for the premiership. But because Haileybury won it last year they retain the Cup. If Haileybury lose then Scotch win it outright (by themselves), but if Haileybury beat Scotch and Xavier beat Geelong then Haileybury win it outright because they beat Scotch.

Thats how it works boys!

The cup isn't going down the road to Keysy anymore. Face it and stop living in denial.

Scotch will hammer Haileybury next week.

How ironic, that after 2 consecutive losses and finally a win against a hapless Xavier, Irony comes out of the woodwork and boasts and Haileybury's chances.

Are you sure it comes down to who won it last year?

First it comes down to the ladder, and probabilty says that it will be a tie up the top.
If a tie on the top of the ladder then it comes down to a 'head-to-head' scenario, meaning if Geelong and Scotch are on the top of the ladder then Scotch wins because they beat Geelong in the finals.
After 'head-to-head', i don't know what happens. Obviously no percentage, which is bemusing as it's the fairest way.
On your basis, it goes down to who won the premiership last year - Haileybury -, Also a bit bemusing to me, as last years winner should have no bearing on this years premiership.
I propose it should go down to who won the most games throughout the year. In my opinion, this is the most fairest besides a percentage.

A percentage would rid us of all this confusion/uncertainty and is the fairest way.
Or a knock-out finals series. Where 1st plays 4th and 2nd plays 3rd. Winner of both games play the final and the loser's play off for 3rd.

Percentage wouldnt work because not everyone played the same teams. Scotch didn't play teams such as Melbourne or Geelong during the year, therefore percentage would be unfair.

Exactly right esham, Haileybury had to play every team in the top 6, and didnt get to play weaker sides like Wesley, Carey and Geelong Grammar.

Haileybury will have far more supporters at this game than Scotch will, purely because they have better spirit. Haileybury is expecting about 300+ supporters there not including parents of the players.

So Scotch crowd i dare u to get all rowdy again and abuse all the players while they are on the field cause our crowd will be happy to beat the fu.ck out of all your crowd. Our supporters wont be outnumbered this time so watch out u weak pieces of sh1t Scotch borders!
