Scotch Vs Xavier 1sts

hmm proves very intersting this one - much hype over the pre-season but now both teams are fighting for survival. lose and bye bye premiership. Molan and Grigg debuted on the weekend and were xavier's two best players and with thomas and sos coming back barra faces some tough selection choices. To throw a cat amongst the pigeons some senior players and ones that haved been talked up in this thread might find themselves playing in the magoos this week.

On scotches side they have been very disappointing thus far but expect a renewed effort. like xavier some overrate players here namely strauss. if rioli plays and is fit look out xavier for we all know his amazing talent.

The xavier year 11s have really lifted this year - the likes of lees, daniher, noonan, shiel, grigg have put in some fine performances. The senior players are about to make their mark on the comp so for me xavier has the edge but i guess we will see in a few days time

All in all should be a contest to go down in aps history. Lets just hope a filthy scotch goal umpire doesnt repeat the mistakes from last uear and put on a further blotch on scotch's unsportsmanlike reputation

Junior is not playing.
No-one comes back from shoulder surgery that quickly.
Recruiters enquired and Scotch said that he was not playing.

Too goo

I watched the game today.

Thought Xavs smashed us in the ruck. Noonan was very good there.

My top 5 for both teams were

Scotch
1. Davis (kept working hard all day)
2. Hill
3. Bowden
4. Shannon Rioli (Held well, but had a few good kicks)
5. We didn't have any other winners on the ground

Xavier
1. Armstrong
2. Noonan
3. Ambrose (murdered Parisi)
4. Thomas
5. Lees/Grigg (Both good in the middle)

XC won the stoppages all day and had far too many tall options at either end. Five players came into the side apparently from last week - O'Sullivan, Thomas, Craig, Hanger etc... who were all good.

Didn't see Hannebery, Booth, Shiel or Woods - injured?
Noticed Kennedy is just the assistant coach - who's in charge - very good match ups!!! Didn't let us sit back across half back and our guns were covered all day. Even if Junior was playing, he might have halved the margin - but still would have been bad news for us.

Why was Strange out?

fantastic win for the xavers coming back nicely from last week. some players shone whilst others were disappointing.
Armstrong was outstanding all day controlling the game through the middle
Buckley ran amuck and hurt Scotch with his skills
Noonan starred down back - Furey did not get one touch
Lees set the game up early
Ambrose was more than serviceable on Parisi
Strauss was most disappointing - highly overrated
Furey had big wraps on him early in the year but could not get a kick yesterday if his life depended on it

Wyno played... and was a good presenting target. Both teams look good, but xavier better on the day.

-Bowden runs all day gets alot of the footy.
-Ambrose ran with Parisi everywhere in the 1st half, and played a solid shut down role. Parisi went into the midfield in the 2nd half got alot off it
- Ambrose a tagger? (been on SC:parisi and CG:Sunberg)
- Sanfillipo was quiet, was he injured?
- Strauss showed class at stages.
- Hill played a good second half as a presenting forward.

Looks like both teams will be up there at the end of the season... What are their draws like for the up and coming rounds.

If Scotch are up there and Xavs beat them by 50 points I think they are gonna absolutely rake in the APS grand final.
