Chris Scott is a good strategist, he's lost the players though. The GFC haven't played with true passion for years, and years. Finals performances are a great example, they're just not invested. A people manager Scotty isn't, think Buckley pre acknowledging the same problem.

I don't think the players do what he says, often. Look at the game last night, Scott said pre-game something about the GFC playing a quicker brand this year. I've never seen a flatter footed side!
What's the point of training to play a certain brand if the side turns up with no intent?
Scotty's Geelong have gone into so many games with a 'surely we don't have to play our best to win this game' attitude over the years. I don't think he has a grasp on this aspect of the team's variability in performance / intent at all. He's a micro operator, culture and people is not his strength.
History tells us this is the real Geelong hence the handbaggers moniker and the Dank/Weapon era was little more than a drug enduced (legal or not who knows?) anomally.
At least you have faced the fact Scott's fleeting success was a case of good timing more than good coaching.
