Well congratulations to bell post hill on there 3rd consecutive premiership. Very close to going all year undefeated. Looked in control for 80-85% of the game saturday and probably should have closed it out. I'm sure east sent some serious scares through bph's camp within the last 5 minutes though. Brad coy could of made it very very different with a goal in the end. The best team over the last 3 years and deserved the win, congratulations again
 
Shaun Lewis.

he would be the first to admit he drinks too much and is not a very good trainer, but what an absolute warrior. jaw broke in two places in the first quarter, plays the whole game (one of our best) and gets us over the line.

whatever your opinion on Lewy, i look at him with a new, revered perspective.

special mention to Joel Page - heartbreaking to see our best player on the sidelines watching someting he was a catalyst of.

Well it seems as though Brent Grgic was officially named BPH coach for 2013 at their presentation night over the weekend. Any other news on the coaching front?

Yeh he played a couple of years at Lara, one year at Blue West then back to Lara - was told he was not required - think that may have been more due to attitude problems than football ability.

Addie may have been a fringe player in 2011, but would have been a permanent reserves player in 2012 after another influx of recruits at the snake pit. Average fringe players wont see you playing finals in the GFL.

you think or you know? because the way i see it, Lara moved on Harris before they lost half the team, and C Addie is short odds to be BPH Captain next year if Basher stands down. so if there was atitude problems i would hazard a guess and say they werent from Cam's end.
 
Big news out of East Geelong...........words is that the coach has got the flick. Murphy & O'Toole to coach after leading the campaign to get rid of Perrett !!
Can anyone shed any further light on this as it seems the tail is wagging the dog at East ??

I heard on grand final day that the coach was going to get the flick even if they won because up to 8 players had threatened to walk out.

I know there were some issues with Cam thinking he should be a regular senior player when the coaching stuff saw him as a fringe player and someone to turn to if injuries hit.

He is a gun in the GDFL, but unfortunately he doesn't have the size to hold down a key defensive post in the GFL. If I remember correctly, he did have some success as a medium-sized forward earlier in his career at Lara.
Nothing against the bloke, just don't think he has what it takes to be a regular player at a top-5 GFL club, which is what Lara are trying to achieve.

Lara were looking to take a different direction with moving on Harris and I know the two under discussion were Kershaw (who ultimately got the job), and Dom Gleeson (who won the VFL flag with Geelong on the weekend). With their VFL links with Werribee, there was hope that either of these two could bring an influx of recruits with them.

Does seem interesting. You dont let a coach go lightly so no doubt they did a review, got feedback from players and observers and made a decision that the fit wasn't right. I doubt two players would be the sole reason for the change.

heard the same, but i dont think you can say tail wagging the dog though. Both Rick and Murph are well credentialled and i dont understand why they werent in charge this year. maybe the commitee realised this halfway through and sorted out the path they have taken with the leadership group then - would explain the form through the last half dozen games...

Interesting news to hear, i also hear jarrod bryant from north shore on his way to east,
Pretty handy pickup for the eagles, heard that his brother may also be joining him,
Dont no weather he is any good or not but good signs for east early
 
I have heard there will be a mass exodus of players from Anakie. Collins, Lazzarich, Salvino, Berg & Costello all set to be playing elsewhere in 2013. Have heard that East may have already had discussions with these players. Does anyone know if there's any truth to this?

word is some massive offers getting around to players willing to pull on the red and white jumper next year.
few current and ex panthers have been approached...wonder where the coin is coming from.

How ironic east geelong allegedly having brief talks to those players named from anakie, I'm sure they would be one team with a fair turnover of players year to year and would love to have some success soon to make it worth it especially with Lucas Murphy still there with him being there major key. Ex panthers being approached? Care to share names bizza I would not be able to recall many players that have left that club for another in recent memory. What was the main reason for the anakie exodus does anyone know?

Confirmed in the Addy this morning. East now looking for a new coach, who knows if he go the filck or not, but he is moving on to coach a GFL reserves team. So there you go.

Sorry bizza but I'm part of the 4 man recruiting panel and we haven't spoke too one current or ex bph player. So I'm not sure where your getting your info from but it's incorrect. As I said a month ago the club is in its best position off the field it has ever been in. We've picked up 5 major sponsors this year and there's more the club is talking too. I will admit if there's guys from bph wanting too chat too us we will definately be following it up. So can u let us no which ones we should call lol.

That was the biggest load of crap I have read in the Addy. Well done Tom for looking after the club and not telling the truth. The players where going to leave if tom coached so they let Tom go. The club called the players into a meeting and told them that Tom got the ass.
