Sweet F.A News
The Sin City Swamprats face the team they first drew with after their second draw of the season. The Hawks look to use the momentum of thoroughly outplaying top of the table bears to guide them from bottom dwelling.
The Sin City Swamprats
Always a constant and confident match thread presence, the Swampies have been impressive this season with a large core of solid posters and some exceptional players performing on the pitch in the spotlight for many an end of year award ceremony.
Swamprat historian Ant Bear is favourite for the Mobbs and after a quiet game a few rounds ago bounced back with a solid 85 Dream Team points, but will be wondering if his 3 behinds could have been the difference between full and half points. The tense finish to last weeks game could have ended a lot worse if permanently cool as ice Millky95 's clutch last minute shot at goal had dribbled in for a point instead. The first year captain's inspirational performance salvaged half points for his team in a position where every match affects their ability to maintain top four positioning.
Rats star forward Gray Day looks to be a main contender for the AlfAndrews medal whilst Sublime has been demonstrating his Sublime hands all season leading the Swamprats marking totals. Another highlight of the season for Sin City has been two new and extremely quality rookies miggs and Far Kern , who have cemented a place in the middle of the pitch, an excellent sign of their youth going forward, whilst second year player Butler has been dominating hitouts with 83 so far this year.
East Side Hawks
In a match they had no right to win based on form, the Dawks pulled out the unexplainable to shut out the leading Bears.
One of the most absent* teams in the competition to banter with, yet stacked with many household names in Sweet, the team led by co captains Mr Eagle and Doctor Colossus anxiously sit only a draw from the bottom. Despite the star studded list including two time MM winner and the always inferior captain to footy_fumbler ; Wacky Tiger, the team has been unable to gel under it's new structure, and been the latest to succumb to a team sheet error. The failure to sign any youth in the off season was addressed with adding rookie GN80 midway through the year to the list, who looks to be the goods so far and if they can snare a few wins in a row the interest in the team will surely fire up significantly. The Hawks can go either way from last weeks triumph, and the team will preferably be looking back at it as the season defining win that powered their charge to finals than rueing what could have been.
Who wins?
The Swamprats will get this done easily and quickly. Over before halftime and the Hawks will be struggling to avoid the spoon the rest of the season.
