Season 31 Round 5: East Side Hawks vs Gold City Royals at The Eyrie
Overview
Good evening SFA. As part of the latest recruitment drive, we are targeting the magical community. After all, both of our sports start with a Q and are fantasy related. So as a way of making qooty more accessible whilst complying with the International Statue of Secrecy, we, The Weird Sisters are holding a song contest for pre-match entertainment. As Dumbledore once said, music is a magic beyond all we do here!
On the weekend the Hawks ran into trouble as they were Crucio'ed by a re-bounding Wonders outfit. They will be seeking to redeem the 62-point loss in this week's clash with the Gold City Royals, whose Battle Royale with the Roys saw them defeated in straight sets. The Royals will be fighting tooth and Ravenclaw to climb out of the bottom 4 this week.
Last Time They Met
In a Season 30, Round 8 battle posted by The Half Blood Prince, Hawks were coming off their equal worst start to a season in Hogwarts, A History. However, East Side's midfield dominated the hapless Royals and they won comfortably. With 9 different goal-kickers, Captain Agent93 was constantly saying, "Hey Man, Nice Shot". He himself had a ripper game, with 26 possies, 10 tackles and 2 goals to boot. Chipmunk also moved his squirrel feet that game, with 27 disposals, 7 tackles and 5 frees for. It wasn't all bad for the Royals, as The Filth Wizard had a Perfect Day and kicked a bag.
In the billy stakes, spookism takes the CakeEater with a DT score of 2. Maybe he was Down With The Sickness, and should have checked in to the Hospital Wing?
Songs to Watch
Despite his best friend Loonerty's departure from the SFA, SM has managed to step it up, and last week delivered a 5-star performance of 29 possessions and 2 goals. He celebrated his achievements with plenty of Honey Whiskey at The Three Broomsticks after the match. GreyCrow also had liquid luck on his side on Sunday arvo as he dominated the ruck with 16 hitouts and disposals apiece. He sure knows how to Play The Game!
