THE MISSION:
The winner of this gets the week off as they'll be straight through the prelim and only a win away from the grandy. The loser meanwhile, will face a battle against the winner of the Old Boys-Dragons clash.
THE FORM:
The Wonders stormed home this season winning eight of their last ten matches to bring strong form. Last week, in the battle for a top-four spot, the Wonders had to overcome the Bombers in an epic prevailing by 5 points. The Furies meanwhile have won their last three after a mid-season stumble. Interestingly, the Furies won three in a row twice before earlier in the season, but each time were defeated in the fourth match of the sequence.
THE HEAD TO HEAD HISTORY:
OVERALL 60 matches: Wonders 31, Furies 28 and 1 draw.
IN FINALS 4 matches: Wonders 2, Furies 2.
LAST TIME THEY MET: Fighting Furies 18.17.125 def West Coast Wonders 12.4.76 (Season 35, Round 5).
OVERALL FINALS RECORD: Wonders 58 matches: 31 wins, 26 losses 1 draw. Furies 60 matches: 34 wins, 25 losses and 1 draw. Both good finals records!
Welcome back to everyone's 15th favourite Sweet FA segment, this time with a twist. The ladder below contains each teams win-loss record against their fellow finalists only. As you can see, the Bombers and Warriors have had the easiest fixtures this season while the Gumbies and Old Boys have had the hardest. Despite an easier fixture, the Warriors have fared best against fellow finals teams winning 2/3 of their games, while the Gumbies have been the worst winning barely 1/3.
What will it mean come Sunday? Probably bugger all, and that's numberwang.
Skippers, please have your team sheets submitted by Thursday June 1 11:59pm (AEST). Don't be a Falcon fool and leave stray symbols on it!
