Exercise is always great to blow myself out of a funk.

Also thinking of Fencing tomorrow for the first time since failing at Olympic Qualifying and then National Championships. Honestly after working so hard not doing as well as I would have liked really destroyed my confidence, taken a fair bit of work with a psychologist to get to this stage.

The quitting part is the hardest, you go from 16 hours a week, dieting, recovery each morning to nothing.

Absolutely no support afterwards which was the worst part, last week I actually drank for the first time in a while and ate a pizza one night, felt incredibly guilty and bad afterwards especially as I only worked out two days. (Aware I shouldn't feel guilty about this stuff, but that's a completely different scenario).

Semi decided on actually pushing a boxing fight, but aware it's a stupid thing to do at my age and I am really only doing it to fulfil the blank space of having a goal.

Bit of a vicious cycle but feel like I need to do something to be accountable to myself.

Did both the Mens Sabre world cup and the Grand Prix in Seoul this year which form an Olympic qualifying campaign (if your good enough which sadly I wasn't 😅).

Actually wouldn't have made it there if it wasn't for Bigfooty (SFA and Swans boards in particular). Most of my Oceanics funding was supplied by people from Bigfooty and the results I got from that (6th in individuals and a Bronze in teams), got my selection in the AFT which meant I could do the world cup and grand prix.

Then Bigfooty went hard on the fundraising for the world cup again.

Fencing is mostly unfunded, so when your paying for 3x private lessons a week, training fees, national squad fees, flights, sports pych, accommodation and then recovery it adds up. (And I was lucky as I am a qualified S&C Coach/ PT so didn't have to pay someone for that).

I have been very very lucky with that, especially as I have honestly been an absolute twat of a poster on a few times when I was struggling (legitimately feel quite bad about that in hindsight).
