I lowkey hate Chicago. All the characters are bad people and they all win
Agree with this and that's why I like it. It goes against trope (and is kind of realistic sadly).

And they're the only two Broadway musicals I've seen (didn't count Disney Stuff, King Kong, community theatre).

What would you recommend? :)

I get that but there is no one to empathise with, no one to want to see their story through even if they fail. If that makes sense

Based on what you said I think you'd like Avenue Q and First Date as comedies. American Idiot is fun if you kinda sorta like Green Day

I like Jesus Christ Superstar but think that's because I am nostalgic for a production of it I did in high school

Oklahoma is fun if you want a classic that actually established a lot of modern musical tropes

Beetlejuice whilst I haven't seen, I quite enjoy the soundtrack of

Come From Away is facinating and based on a true story

I've got plenty to check out thanks!! I loved Crank Yankers lol so Avenue Q looks like it would mesh well. First Date looks great too.

Most of the community theatre I've seen hasn't been a musical. Eg. finally saw The Mousetrap last year with partner in Newy last year and am aiming to see Macbeth in June.

(That's a good critique of Chicago too btw, agree there isn't an anchor to invest in).

I like Chicago but a shame the film version's so lacking. Bob Fosse was apparently going to make a film version but sadly died beforehand, and I would've loved to have seen what he would've brought to it (or even a competent film maker instead of a hack like Bob Marshall).

I think Cabaret would be close to my fave, speaking of Fosse.

Hey TheInjuryFactory —- why did you only use half the Nerd Club members to create your quotes?

There are some very angry members of the Nerd Club in the Discord after being excluded from the OP’s.

Can you please correct them to include our additional members
Thoughts and prayers. 🙏

Where were they when the heat was really on you blokes? I know who the big dogs were, who were the small fries? 👀

Thank you for considering that Supersuns & I are “big dogs”. We’re the small fries.

I don't dislike Broadway, but I'm not a big listener to that genre.
I don't not dislike Broadway. I can't think of anything worse.

And if you think the triple negative is bad, listen to the theme song for family ties:
" 'cos there aint no nothing we can't love each other through" WTF?

What's your favourite Broadway Musical?
It's hard to go past the two I have seen multiple times live - Les Miserables and The Lion King, but for different reasons

Yeah but thewizardmelon couldn't spoil milk in a sauna.

What am I catching strays for, I’ve told everyone I’m not a defender! The powers that be seem to disagree.

All this “Qual-position Qootball” nonsense these days…

Tina Turner Experience from last year was excellent

Oh don't use the name of the Scottish Play. It's bad luck
