With the season finished, the ladder looks like this:
1. Fremantle (144.0%)
2. Melbourne (124.5%)
3. Collingwood (105.9%)
4. Adelaide (161.1%)
5. GWS Giants (117.0%)
6. Sydney (104.0%)
7. West Coast (103.1%)
8. Hawthorn (97.6%)
9. Geelong (128.1%)
10. Western Bulldogs (106.7%)
11. Port Adelaide (103.6%)
12. Gold Coast (98.5%)
13. North Melbourne (96.8%)
14. Richmond (82.8%)
15. Essendon (56.5%)
16. St Kilda* (70.0%)
17. Brisbane* (66.3%)
18. Carlton 0 wins (56.9%)
Any surprises? For me, Melbourne's rise as one of the powerhouse teams caught me by surprise. Elimininthmond's fall from Elimination finals statushood was also quite spectacular. Norf haunted by THIRTEEN again after back to back prelim failures.
Geelol's failure to finish top 8 despite off season Danger hype was funny. Adelaide are fine without him it seems. GWS crack into the 8 and the Puffers can be excused since they are missing the final piece of the premiership puzzle.
Fremantle have doubled their silverware after again topping the ladder.
Wet Toast haven't quite reached the heights of 2015, needing a last minute smashing of an Essendone side with approximately 12 of its best players missing to make the 8. The Hawfs have returned to their irrelevant selves again, only drawing 8,894 to their 45 point win vs Norf.
Yet another spoon heading to Carlspoon/Carltank after being at their tanking best with 0 wins.
Essendone continue to avoid the spoon after last winning one in 1933 despite copping some massive smashings, thanks to Carltank's efforts, with only 0.4% separating the two in percentage.
Treloar was a great addition for Collingwood, making a huge impact.
* = Teams have compromised the competition and are bringing it somewhat into disrepute.
Top 8 ins and outs:
OUT: North, Richmond and Bulldogs
IN: Melbourne, Collingwood and Adelaide
