Went and saw him last night. Was a bit disappointed but my expectations weren't that high so was only a bit disappointed. Didn't laugh out loud once though. He was very shouty too which I wasn't expecting. When he gets shouty it just sounds like a nasally whine. Started quite strongly telling everybody to go for it with their phones he doesn't care. So you see all the phones come out and then he proceeded to pay out on idiots that do that kind of thing. You then saw the phones start to disappear again.
saw him advertised, but it was pretty expensive

That's pretty much his schtick though?

I think finishing on 10 minutes of Husband/Wife trope jokes took a bit of the sting out of it. Pretty safe territory to plumb though given 90% of the crowd was probably mid 40-mid 50's

Have liked the show for years.
But I'm not rushing out to get jerry stand up tickets.

I think Elaine had the best post Seinfeld career.

Kramer I heard did some racist remarks unsure when or where.

If you can leave the Israel crap at the door Jerry is still a genuinely incredible standup.

Saw him when he came out early in the year and I didn’t have massive expectations but he was as good as he’s ever been, as was his opener Mario Joyner, aka ‘Maroon Golf’ from the Puerto Rican Day parade episode.

No doubt Jerry a pro.

I prob was unsure about getting tickets so let it slip.

The rumours were indeed true

December 17 (in America)

Bluray

4K

I've placed a pre-order for the 4K version and might also double dip with the bluray in future.

** EDIT **

To avoid the weird looks - the "4K" release will be in 4K resolution..... but the original aspect ratio of the show.

The bluray will essentially be as it's currently shown on Netflix (proper HD transfer - but the image altered to 16:9 for widescreen tv - sacrificing some of the on screen details of the original broadcast).

If anyone has experienced it, think of what happened with Frasier on DVD vs the released complete series set on bluray.

The standard Blu-Ray and 4K editions are formatted slightly differently; the Blu-Ray is formatted in a 1.78:1 High Definition aspect ratio, while the Ultra HD Blu-Ray is in a 1.33:1 4K aspect ratio.

 so based on the reddit discussion, that means the Blu-Ray is widescreen but might have some cropped on top and bottom, but the Ultra is more similar to the TV version dimensions of the time?

Pretty much

Better way of explaining it than I attempted. I don't think it's that bad honestly. I've watched the series heaps of times on wide screen tvs (via the dvd release + my own rips of the series from the same dvds). 4:3 has it's charms.

On the flipside I can see why people are up in arms about the conversion (speaking from experience hearing about the complaints with Frasier.... and also what Disney+ did to the early episodes of The Simpsons).

TV dimensions of the time were 4:3, weren't they?

I've been so close to the promised land TWICE so far.
Originally meant to be delivered on Christmas Eve.... but that's when the shipping process started.
Then a new date of Jan 1st.... which I didn't think would happen being a public holiday and all

Now having to wait until the 9th (in all likelihood it should be here by the 3rd or 4th.... as it's currently in Sydney).

It arrived yesterday, looks pretty good in 4K! That said as I recently completed a series re-watch less than a month ago I don't have it in me to start from episode 1 again so soon after already doing so. I am ripping the episodes from the disc (one way to verify no playback errors/issues) and will watch them in the future.

I might end up buying the bluray set in the future as well - just to have the Netflix "HD" version as well :p Then I can decide between a cropped vs non cropped aspect ratio viewing.
