What about the ad that says 'It's a great place for drinks after work and women love for its stylish atmopshere.' It's a 'gentleman's club' on King St for christ's sake!!!!!!!
I think it's called Spearmint Rhino.

None of those footballer seeing ads are as bad as Leigh Matthews and Divine home builders etc.
The bloke is getting a mint out of football and I assume he'd be getting a fair whack from Divine as well.
The thing is though, those ads aren't clever or witty, just irritating.

"oh one perfect day" Lexus Brighton. another ****ing anoying one. Have you noticed they have all these betting ads followed up by bankruptcy ads. and what about the one with the compost bin that gets rid of your form guide and betting tickets so you can hide your addiction from the wife.

We should be grateful we don't hear...........

"Helloooooooooooooo!
Frank Walker from National Tiles"

Peter Mcardo and Troy Zantuck were taking the ^$$# out of Frank Walker and National Tiles a couple of days ago on their gladiators of Sport and tuesday morning radio sports program. (after midnight)

oh the new mobil one...

c'mon mate, the game starts any minute!
yeah, yeah, i've just gotta get some pies and cokes from the supermarket...
MATE, go to your local mobil and get it. You'll save money on your petrol too!
what? no docket?
no docket, no crazy checkout queues, just spend five bucks or more in store and mobil will wipe off four cents a litre off your price.

and so on...

Why did they start playing this ad AFTER the footy season?

i cant remember the name of the company, but they collect old and unregisteres vehicles.

"they come your house, and even work sundays too. and the best part about it, they give you 50 bucks. ull be giving that to me, wont you darling. Yes dear."

The other one i hate is the lease express with billy brownless and that *** about novated leases. "Go the swannies"

"Did someone say sheriff"

also who else is hanging for a Lennoxx "digital" mp3 player from the good guys.

The best thing about SEN ever is when Stephen J Peak does the weather news reports on the gladiator of sports on Monday and Friday mornings (1 AM)
It is bloody hilarious, he gives the weather reports for exotic places like Guatamala and he makes social commentaries on places like Geelong and Yarra Valley when he is doing the weatehr report about those towns.
Also has anyone listened to the Billy from West Heidelberg re-mix music ?
That is gold :)

absolute classic.....he's certainly one of a kind.

I seriously love all the posters in this thread. You are ALL right. All of you. ALL OF YOU....

What about - the "Chrysler Werribee Jeep" ad:

Voiceover: What's Werribee famous for?
moc (thinks to hisself): Sewage treatment plant.
Voiceover: Werribee mansions? Nah.
moc (taken aback, still thinking to hisself though): It the sewage treatment plant - you know, Werribee swamp!
Voiceover: Werribee Open Plain Zoo? Nuh-uh!
moc (this time out loud, frustrated at the radio's stupidity): Of course not! It's where everybody's poo goes! That's why everybody's heard about Werribee!
Voiceover: No, it's "Werribee Chrysler Jeep". Blah blah blah...
moc (stabbing finger on the 'select station' button): Mate, you can't convince me. It's the **** farm. We all know it.

Ad then goes on to empty Roget's Thesaurus for superlatives in describing the dealership, the cars, and the personality traits of the purchasers of the cars from that dealership. Spare me!

ROUND THE BLOCK!
13 CABS!
ROUND THE BLOCK!
13 CABS!

And yes, all the aforementioned ads should be pulled off the air immediately. Or maybe I just listen to too much SEN.
Firstly, this ad was mentioned half a dozen times above.

Secondly, it's:
ROUND THE BLOCK!
13 CABS!
ROUND THE CLOCK!
13 CABS!

But to know that I would've heard it approximately 80K times. Ten times on the radio and the rest in my head. Bastard **** theme.

KC and the?
Sunshine?
Correct! You are my?
Sunshine?
Correct! Where are the best deals for Hyundai?
Sunshine at something or other Hyundai!
Correct and what's the...?
92929292!

Her voice is just friggen annoying!

Like regional TV & Radio in the 70s & 80s, I've lost count of the number of crap ads SEN run.

Hey - maybe I need to get the Mathemagic Computer Tutor, and i'll be able to count that high.;)

But seriously, so many naff ads cheapens the brand and image of the station playing them.

If Frank Walker or Jacques from Xenium Mortgages is reading this thread - send me a PM and I'll slap you together some decent ads (for a fair price). No - make that for free - just to get the bad ones off the air waves.

No jury would convict this bloke of killing the wife. Mind, he's obviously too squibby to do so.

But they are like Singo's "where do you get it" TV ads during the eighties - they are so bad they are good. I mean this thread alone is testimony to their staying power in the mind of the listener. Whereas a ten million dollar uber conceptual BMW ad is going to be pleasant by not memorable

Another thing I hate? When they go to that chime for the news...but the news is brought to you by "Clive Peeters, makers of some crap you don't really need".

EDIT: WTF do I listen to the station, given the amount of crap I give it?

It wasn't darling. The peadick's name was Barry. 'You'll be giving the money to me won't you Barry?'

I grew up with these gems on 3SR, 3NE, Ch 6 (Shepparton) & Ch 4 Albury.

Tuckerbag (paper bag) - "where do you get it!"
Do it in Deni (about a million rabbits shagging there logo/brand)
Twitt Motors
Kilgour Office supplies
and enough chainsaw, Onga pumps, ride on mowers, and drench ads to last me 20 lifetimes.
