still convinced the cleaning order will unlock a lot of doors around who knew what, when, and what they did following .... there is potentially 6/7 current and former mps on the hook here ..... not least being the current leader of the opposition (higgins herself expressed concerns lurch would be informed not long after the incident occurred)

perhaps albo is keeping the options for a RC on this tragic affair in his top drawer for down the track

No link. Have you read the articles, aka why its newsworthy.

As for MPs being involved, Senators Kate Gallagher, Wong & the late Senator Kitching.

So are you claiming ABC management directed the narrative of that story or was it just flawed journalism

See the MDs performance in front of the Senate Committee, the 'I know nothing' line.
Poor journalism as acknowledged & failures at producer level.
Then you might address the reasons for sending a journo from Sydney over a Darwin journo who are across the issues.
Then there is the Michael Rowland on brekky TV, repeating the white supremacy claim.

So the MD at the ABC did not have editorial oversight.

Now that is very different to our Murdoch friends isn’t it.

Thanks for proving my point.

The MDs failure is management awareness, the editorial failure was well below his pay grade.
The MD was unaware of the detail heading into the Senate Committee hearing, when a single telephone call would have informed him (if he is across the ABC organisational checks & balances).

The equivalent in NewsCorp would be CEO Mr Thomson* not being across the detail going into a press briefing.

heres 2 to start with numbnuts

questions already asked about reynolds and cashs knowledge/involvement ....... as minister of state hawkes office would have been advised of an incident within the parliamentary building (also happens he is the minister responsible for overseeing building maintenance including ......... wait for it ...... cleaning - this was an out of schedule cleaning request that would have a very clear paper trail on who requested what, when ..... including specifics about cleaning areas, cleaning materials etc)

morrisons office has had questions asked of it about what it knew, who knew and when it knew

whats that now ......... 6

and there have been questions asked about what lurch knew given the federal police were a portfolio responsibility at the time

as for your efforts to implicate the alp, take your 'mean girls' murdoch nonsense elsewhere

Apparently everyone knew except for the Minister who's office it happened in who testified that she didn't know. And also testified that she offered support.

And is now saying she's been unfairly victimised. Meanwhile, this is from the same company that just published her PR piece. Poor Reynolds, the victim! When people say that Reynolds and Bolt have no shame. We literally mean it, they don't understand how ashamed they should feel about all of this, they've got zero self-awareness!

That discussion has been disputed and never happened.
Seriously check your facts before posting or watch Sunday's 'Insiders'.

these low life dipsticks were absent on the day self reflection and moral conscience were handed out. blot is a moral, ethical vacuum. a low life who spends his life demeaning and lying about others, yet bleats like a craven coward when he cops return fire.

Make correct claims, lift your game. The legal action is there for all to see IF you look.
We were discussing your claim about the non existent discussion between Reynolds, Wong and Kitching.

Don't think that Wong is being sued.

albrechtson is going in hard on this 'mean girls' angle .... bolts showing interest in undermining higgins story

[edit] whats the newscorp game here?
1. red meat for the rwnj cookers?
2. lehrmanns 'bought' newscorp coverage as part of his defamation case?
3. liberals 'bought' newscorp coverage fearful of the incident leading to a royal commish?
4. or just another day of $hitful newscorp 'tapping a dead girls phone' behaviour?

Some very bad shit is going to become public if Lehman ever gets cross examined in court.

The Gaetjens inquiry did not vanish for no reason.

Mobilising Sky and discrediting the victims is par for the course.

The irony of Kwality implying others are members of sheltered workshops.

As for Reynolds, I'm hoping she gets a genuine comeuppance - personally and professionally. There's some real POS in politics these days, not all in the LNP admittedly, but the LNP certainly seems to have the market largely cornered when it comes to female POS, so that's an achievement they can hang their hat on, I guess. AS they fade into oblivion.

Sheltered workshop as in not accessing a range of opinion.
I post opinion from a multitude of sources that I read to understand the range of opinion on any newsworthy issue.

Its a bit of a stretch for Reynolds to play the victim after getting questions from Wong because something about the story doesnt add up, especially with the way that Lehrmann was terminated.

The article states that the Department of Parliamentary Services was notified of the "unathorised" entry by two drunk staffers. DPS then told the Department of Finance who then told the Chief of Staff, Fiona Brown on Tuesday 26 march. That same day Brown has a meeting with Lehrmann where he is effectively fired as its his second serious security breach. Brown then has a meeting with Higgins who doesnt appear to be even formally sanctioned (despite Reynolds saying "it was a sacable offence") but is just reminded of her code of conduct responsibilities. There also appears to be no action taken against the Parliament house security guards who led two drunk people who didnt have their security credentials in to the Defence Industry Minister's office suite and then left them there???

I reckon that the reason that Higgins wasnt sanctioned and the security guards werent sanctioned is because its not that big of deal for staffers to return to their offices after hours.

Surely when DPS notified the Department of Finance and then Brown, they would have mentioned that Higgins was found half-naked asleep and that an out of schedule clean was ordered with an order to keep an eye out for condoms. Therefore, I reckon that Brown and Reynolds both knew something sexual (most likely at the time thought it was consensual) had happened way earlier than they let on.

Has Reynolds explained why she offered support to Higgins, when according to Reynolds, there had not been any discussion about rape? According to Reynolds description of the timeline in The Australian, there doesnt appear to be any suggestion of sex in the office until Higgins' second meeting with the chief of staff on the following Thursday where all higgins said was that "he was on top of me". The article doesnt say when the chief of staff Fiona Brown, emailed the Department of Finance, but the Department wrote back at 6pm on Friday saying that what Brown had offered was adequate. It wasnt until 1 April that reynolds and Brown met with Higgins and asked if she wanted to make a report to the AFP.
