was told some good bowling, some poor batting, and about 7 LBWs for the day.
they said the wicket was not great a bit low and slow, but not as bad as the scores would indicate.

b grade thornton v broadford

Thornton all out for 96. mcgilvray 46 sharp 21

Broady 7/65 phelps 4/12 off 16 overs. williamson 3/18 off 14

Did i read the seymour rag correct chippy got 38 of Broadfords 47 all out wtf is going on there.

if thats the old bloke then yeah. did his back fielding to so moand his way through. played well. not that it will matter cause it will be a wash out, but in my opinion, broady played way to defensive. attack 96 and they could have had us back in by the end of the day. just blockd and made no effort to score. will get you out every time

Game on there CH.

Chippa Douglas did score 38 of the Red & Black's total. Do washout's all round tomorrow mean the Hill's efforts are in vain and both clubs will split 3 points like the other matches yet to get a result???? Contentious in seasons past this one, personally I reckon if ya good enough to get a result then you should keep it????

Was there any consideration of pencilling in a Sunday or two to make up for any lost rounds???

SDCA if it was contentious, it will still be contentious, just the way it is in the SDCA.
Sundays, could not see this hapening either. but dont think i would be in favour of it either, wash outs are just part of the game.
If it was all oneday cricket there be results!!!

2010/11 SDCA Handbook Page 33, as a follow on from Item 6. (Points) reads . . .

"In a round where at least one match is washed out, the teams that do not play shall receive three points each and the teams that play and win receive the points appropriate to that win."

l played yesterday in the worst day off cricket in 24 years ,Tallarook Bgrade batted for 78 overs for 97 runs ,lm sure that they thought they were doing the right thing trying to bat the overs out but you can at least try and score

Nagambie Bgrade bowled out for 19 is this correct, anyone got scores from Avenel and Alex Agrade.

wouldnt be because people are struggling to get teams because numbers are to low? imagine that.

thornton b grade vs seymour

Seymour (with 7 players) all out for 62 j pollock 49 t phelps 3/20
Thornton were 4/152 phelps with 61 and williamson 31 not out

Considering on friday night we had 6 until we dragged some old blokes away from the tab saturday morning, and seymour rocked up with 6 until 2pm, would be wondering if the clubs who voted for 2 day games are reconsidering their vote. and things are that bad for us that if we make it to xmas without folding will be a miracle. good voting boys

Yeh the comp is just about f**ked below A-grade I think . . .

Avenel Cgrade have played 1 game and for the third week in a row there was 5 C grade games not played due to forfiet,so at this stage we will play 4 games and make the finals crap does that mean i have to train

Agreed. I dont want to say i told you it would end like this, but i did. i recon blokes aged over 40 make up nearly half the b grade teams..

Go to Tallarook and it's more ha ha - I reckon when we done em in a B-grade granny 4 years ago they had two guys under 40 :D

Seven players for there Bgrade, and there answer to there problems is offer $ to young players from other clubs to play there.
This club needs to start looking beyond the bar takings for there solutions.

So are we all on board now,ONEDAY cricket for Bgrade, and for those ********s that have been holding it back **** off.
No good point, so sides like avenel, alex, broadford, kilmore, eastern hill etc, who have managed to keep players, bleed through juniors and maintain a good club culture suffer because of the few ones that cant. Hell even royals are playing b grade again.
Instead of bitching and moaning about two day cricket id reckon we look into our own clubs and see why blokes aren't staying first and try and fix it up

If you have a good club that people enjoy hanging around, then there shouldn't be an issue with numbers. I don't see how changing B-Grade to one-dayers will somehow attract all these new players.

All the country cricket leagues of note around our region play two-dayers in lower grades, how would re-formatting the league do anything but weaken our competition? If anything, it would make our league less attractive to any moderately serious cricketer.

I agree with Snakeman. I think clubs should start looking at themselves, and what they can do to help make their club stronger rather than bringing the rest of the league down.
