wouldnt say the Yea A grade bowling is bleeding runs:confused:.... Every team will get hit for 200 runs @ alex.. And 150 at Yea is only a par score... let ourselves down in all forms against kilmore... Pretty confident our first win is just around the corner. and as ranga tells us 1 brings 2 apparently;)
think walshy's comment was tongue in cheek...:D

Righto then, I will state what is obvious.
On the SDCA site, discussions about yea and alex are pretty boring. Self indulgent if you will. I understand they are now an integral part of the comp. But i think, maybe, still in need of their own thread to keep a small group satisfied instead of boring many.

first things first, buy a sherrin. their alot better.

secondly, if your going to come onto a site and label it boring, why dont you try and contribute something of substance to spark a bit of interest from the other sides???

Well done to you!:thumbsu: Two comments on the SDCA thread this year and niether adding any value or trying to develop interest.

Anyone want to put up a list of the best U21 players in the comp this year?

I got a better idea how about you guts put up a list of your under 17 players, it may help to make sure the next under 17 Mcpherson shield game doesn't get forfieted.
The comments re YEAs attack, just looking to get some activity on the thread, truth is it is boring atpit, and i would think there is plenty to talk about nobody appears to want to be a bit controversial and kick it up a gear.

Not real up to date with the real young brigade in our comp this year mate, but a bloke we have playing for us would easily fit into the best under 21 cricketers in the comp Daniel Zoch, absolute gun, if your lucky enough to play us this year in c grade you will witness him first hand. Played for assumption last year. Top kid.

Of course Zochy is going to dominate C Grade, the kid easily held his own in ACK 1sts last yr..Also was Vice Captain..

Also why the hell did the u17s have no side the other week?? last yr they had to tell kids they couldnt play because there were far to many numbers..

yeh that young fella plays u14s for Yea and looks the goods. has magnificent shape on the ball when in flight, perfect seam and all. showed many up at training tonight, including Yea's own the AZ man...

P-man, he is gonna be great bowler for you guys as long as the nightmares from last saturday when I smashed him too all parts stop.
Seriously, yea need to really harness him. I think his name was tacker or something like that. He is going to be a real asset to your a grade in the not too distant future.

Yeh that is the only way to learn when bowling spin, copping a few big hits. but he will only get better. he played B grade yesty and got 2/28 off 4 i believe.
This kid has really only started bowling leggies since late last yr. and is only 14! We will continue to work with him and when he gets a bit quicker and stronger i can guarantee this kid will claim a mass of wickets.

Also Yea for the 2nd week in a row scored over 200 and still lost in A grade. Eastern Hill amassed 223 with Youngman and Jack Smith Williams both getting 80 odd. For yea atkins got 60, clavarino 34* and a few boys got in the 20's. Yea just fell short getting 205 ..

my thoughts exactly p diddy.

Avenel A-Grade dismissed Kilmore for 130, then made 6/131 chasing. Scooter Donovan made 58 for the Swans while Lachie Richards took 3 wickets for Kilmore...
In B-Grade Royals knocked up 7/157 then Avenel crawled to 9/99, at one stage Nathan Allum had 3/1 and until he got tired was bowling very well (and pretty quick). Can't see too many B-Grade batsmen playing him if he bowls like he did in that first spell...

Now I am no authority on all the rules & regulations re the SDCA but once again I am very sure that you can not be registered at two clubs in the one region, so if what has been stated re the above mentioned player playing games with a club in the bendigo area and allso with his SDCA club I am wondering why the question has not been asked. Come on guys if i have it wrong tell me so, if i haven't then whats going on?

Thornton have already picked up a nickname, THE TAPS they run hot and cold what is it with them great one week and not so good the next, any reasons for it guys?

Yeah bit of a problem at the moment, great on the concrete shit on the turf, but were slowly getting a fairly handy side together and with more games on the turf we can only improve

Are they gonna have a turf wicket put in by any chance? And on that subject, when is Alexandra making the switch?

Never happen at Thornton, as far as i know Alex A's have been playing on there turf all year and B's will play there when the draw allows

yeah alex already have a turf wicket and it is a road!!!
How about a few opinions about the turf wickets around the comp, I love the Rook and Avenel decks, find the E/Hill deck to be inconsistent, Yea's is good Kilmore and Broady never realy sure what your going to get. Seymour's is usualy ok and royals is good.

Yea's ground would have to be in the top 3 now with the good grass cover of the ground and deck getting better each week. Also the grand stand is the perfect place to watch the action, not many other grounds have that good of view!! :thumbsu:

Also Baz, that young spinner bowled mediums in the 14s on the weekend as they didnt have any other Pacers and got 3/2 off 2!!

Multi talented!!

Who actually won in A grade this week? With nothing in the herald sun and a ladder from round two, How the hell are you supposed to know what is going on in this comp? The website may as well be shut down.

Royals was very slow when we played there. Yea had a good wicket but the field was covered long grass and grass clippings and made it near impossible to get the ball of the square. Kilmore is at the best its been for a long time both the deck and the field been a bit in it for the bowlers with the new rock then very friendly to bat on in the later overs.

That was rectified the following week:thumbsu:

yea was one of the best batting tracks i have played on in a long time.
It had a little bit of seam early as it had a green tinge, then flattened out later on.
One of the . Cant wait to play at alex, on their new deck. I have heard some great reports of their place being an absolute road.
