Jesus Christ!!! - a bloke goes away for a long weekend and this is what happens. Dont take this clearance thing out on me uTallarookians coz as no hoper has pointed out I no longer pull the strings at HHR - Im waiting til I hit 40 to resurrect my A/B-grade career at Tallarook.

Thanks for calling me "stupid Doona" there no hoper - and footy has nothing to do with my inability to contribute to the club at this time. Ive always been of the belief if you cant give 100% then you dont put ya hand up and besides I hear numbers are thru the roof so I doubt Id get a run anyways. How one's forgotten at the BCC. I got off the committee for the 2006/07 season after probably serving 7-8 years since I returned from QLD - so if thats considered as not being around the joint for some time then my efforts mustn't have been great & wont be missed!!!

Well old mate you can get even. They tell me your finger is quicker than mine??:D

McPherson Shield this weekend i am led to believe. Anyone like to have a stab at the team or will it be a no show for the SDCA? 17's and 13's are competing.

Bit generous on the age limit doon, i tought it was 50+ :D

C'mon lads where are the run downs from Satdy? I know Chippa got 80 odd against Kilmore and that B'ford won, and that Alex won again but have little details on the 3rd weekend of SDCA action . . . . . . somebody please???

Alex pumped Yea, Yea bowled out for 111 in around 40 overs. Cozza 29, Belly 28 and Kroenert 22. I think Moss claimed 4 fa.
Alex made the runs easily, 1 wicket down and around 26 overs bowled. One batsmen was around 65 n.o I believe and the other 2 batsmen chipped in too. Sorry don't know many names
Alex were pretty impressive and Walshy's prediction of Alex being the darkhorses of the comp doesnt look too far off.

Would love to get peoples opinions/predictions on the best side the SDCA could throw up, say a team you would want to see at a Melbourne or Bendigo Country week?

Il have a crack at it but may be off the mark with some players whom may not be still playing this year.

2.Scooter (ave)
3.A.Hinss (ave)
4.M.Winter Irving (nagas)
5.T.Hede (kil)
6.Duggo (broa)
7.Ranga (yea)
8.Joey (rook)
9.Blackwell (broa)
10.Dallas (hill)
11. A.Miller (yea) need a spinner

12th man Jack Smith Williams

What no Dundon?? Could play as a batting allrounder, averaging 75 with the bat this yr and would make a handy bowler to turn to.

would throw robby douglas in there as an all rounder and the opener from alex, both batted well on the weekend.
anyone want to throw a few names around for an U21 SDCA side?

under 21s in no order
L Atkins
L Watts
X Youngman

D Bergowitz
J Colliss (keeper) can bowl
add any others to the sqaud

Solman you will not need a clearance to play over there. The only times you will need a clearance in cricket is if you are going to play with a club that is in the same VCA region as the club you are wishing to leave. Eg Seymour to Royals etc

Thanks mate, heard otherwise and I was frightened I would not get to play as Royals rejected one clearance from Royals to Seymour already.

Are you playing locally or Swan hill way this season mate?

Living in Bendigo so will have the odd hit out at Goornong with the Mount Pleasant boys. Not sure how often i will get on the park though. I really enjoyed the games i played for Seymour last year and it would have been good to continue on with the boys

Talking of u/21 sides, why not this s. herron chick from seymour, apparently she can play a bit. 4/9 not bad figures. Also a couple of young Alex blokes looked alright as well.

yeah samanthaman goes alright, but just wouldnt cut it up against some of the blokes jobby mentioned.. mind you a very good team that he mentioned..

doona can you inform me on the age restriction on Mcpherson shield u17's? if got no chance for the seniors but like to think id be in the 17's.. i was asked to play last year but work restricted me.. so if u turn 18 this year, can u still take part? or do you have to be 17 when the season starts?

Dunno how it works Josh sorry - agree on young Sam though, dunno if when we play on the annual "roads" after Xmas whether she'll take as many wickets as there mightn't be much as assistance in the decks.

What about me little mate Mitch Collier?

Joey whats going on with Jack Whalan he has turned into a run making machine?

Absolute freak mate, only player i have ever seen who can pull off the front foot straight cut with ease. 97 not out first week and then backed it up with 60 odd the next. Champion

Tallarook A Grade had a great win on Saturday against what would have been a heavily favoured Broadford side. Tallarook were missing the two Tarrans and to a lot lesser extent Jacko but still managed a fantastic win. Big show puts it down to his great captaincy but whatever. Their was plenty in the track and i think Broadford made the mistake of batting when they won the toss. They were dismissed for 54 with T.Blackwell making 21 and R.Douglas 15. Three bowlers for Tallarook got three wickets, Woogie, Dangerous and L.Irving. In reply Tallarook made the runs in relative ease, passing the total 4 down. Dangerous the star again making a fine 32 n.o. Only bowler for Broadford who looked like getting wickets was the skipper Blackwell who got something like 4/10 off his 9. That now makes it 4 on the trot for Tallarook and sets them up nicely for the yr and the young guys are really standing up this yr. Good sign for the future.
