The Final Four: South Mildura, Robinvale, Irymple, Mildura
Premiers: South Mildura
Runners Up: Robinvale
McLeod Medalist: Fitzgerald (South), Eaton (Irymple), Alvey (Wentworth)
Biggest Disappointment: Hard to say. Easily say Imperials, but was expecting it. Think most clubs are about where we thought they would be.
Biggest Surprise: Ben Perkins (Merbein)
Leading Goal Kicker: Troy Moncur (Robinvale)
Umpire's pet: ......
Overrated/Past it: Respect only for anyone having a crack out there!

Bit quiet yet again.
Anyone like to put forward some ideas on the demise of Imperials?

Simple Hill a max exodus of key and quality players......dont think u can point the finger at any 1. Happened to Irymple in 2008. Lost Eaton, Eagle, Jess & Turnbul thats just of memory......very hard to build a winning side when that happens.

I bet they are just thanking the loard for big feartherston....with out him they would have some even bigger blow outs.

Yeah it is real quite on hear ATM.

Looks like the top 4 is settled. And it seems as though the season is just flying along no major issues at all to note.

South would have to be demoralized after what was really a flogging. If the swallows had kicked straight it would have been embarrsing.
Was it someone from South said that Irymple were soft

funny how those things come back to bite you, looks like the south boys dont like the pressure, maybe spend some more cash might be a option

Cups are not handed out in June/July. There are a couple more to come back into Souths best side. If I was in Robinvale's stable, I'd be quite happy sitting back listening to the South/Irymple rhetoric flapping about.
Must admit, Hodson is a gun youngster, Eaton, DeAngelis, Peake, Coghlan are all top shelf, there is unfinished business at Henshilwood Park after last year....

Agree!
However first or second spot and the double chance can be just about guaranteed.

Haha and I said it was all over, all I said was funny how it comes back to bite when teams mouth off about other teams. Who are the ins for south? Fitzgerald and?. Baynes, Mcnulty, Ganz, Byrnes and Callow to maybe come in, but yes Robinvale of course is the team to beat, and will be very hard to shake.

You could add Jeffers, Mike and Nocerra to possibly come in as well. However all of the above and Baynes etc. are not going to get back in are they?

obviously they all wont come back in hillite, but players fighting for spots can only be good for the club

Time for Imps to bite the bullet and begin to experiment with the team makeup. Great to see Tommy Hewitt finally get a game, did a good job in his second game on Richo on the weekend, couldn't really keep up with him (who can?) but was next to him at the contests.
A couple more from the U/18's could make a debut in the remaining games this year. Might win one or two IF they can get 4 quarters together........
The second spoon beckons.......

Wenty's win throws a cat among the pigeons or rather a roo among the birds.

James Watt is a fair in at WW, and Leeroy Eggmoleese is getting better (fitter) by the week.
Crowley and Clyne available for the finals anything could happen.

Irymple vs WW should be a cracker!

Last season there had been 20 posts in July.
We've had 5 this season. Is our league getting a bit mundane or has the novelty of big footy worn off?

Looks like the swallows may not have as many to come back as first thought. Jordan Payne gone for 12 months with a knee reco, Zac Westhead gone for 2-3 weeks with an ankle, rumors are that Coghlan's hand is not as bad as first thought and he may play this week. As for the others Callow has played 1 game then missed 3 with a hammy, I think he may have run out of time, Ganz is yet to get back on the track after his knee surgery, McNulty apparently has hardly been seen, Nocera played his first game for the year in the Ressies on Saturday. Baynes looks as though he may be the only one that will get back of all those blokes.

Baynes should return maybe with Adolph, Nocera, Mike,or Pezzaniti (not in any particular order) Sources tell me that the club saw Callow as a long term project if he makes it this year fine if not they'll wait .
McNulty's been on leave if he makes it then thats a bonus too.
Irymple have been winning without these blokes but Payne and Westhead have played all season so they'll have to be a bit of a restructure.

Gee lads pretty quiet!! So with the last 5 games about to be played this weekend is the top 4 locked in? or willl mildura be able to make a change and knock wenty out of the 4 slot? how do ppl think the ladder will look in 5 weeks time??

For me, Wentworth are the fourth team for the finals. Mildura are getting better, but they still seem to let slip momentum at crucial times during games. They need to shut out teams from the first quarter and then stand on em for the next three.
Does any side move the ball as well as Wentworth? They're not overly tall but blessed with skills and run/pace. If a big side gets hold of em, they could be in strife. When they get Crowley and Clyne back from Bendigo, they'll be stronger still.

The Final Four. Irymple,Robinvale,South,Wentworth
Premiers Irymple
Runners Up. Robinvale (will be a close grand final!)
McLeod Medalist. Moncour(Rob), Ryan Harris (South),Brad Eaton (Iry),Carmelo Lando (Went) and Smokie as Richardson (Mild)
Biggest Disappointment Didnt want to see it but it had to be as the players they lost,Imperials
Biggest Surprise. amount off under 18 players filling senior teams and doing well !
Leading Goal Kicker. Carmalo Lando
Umpire's pet; Falvo (Rob , J.Dawson (Mild)
Overrated/Past it Red Cliffs team !

Sth Mildura lose yet again to a top 4 team, their excuse was they were crucified by the umpires yet again, well maybe, sth just aren't good enough, did they ever think of that

Supporters say lots of things about opposition players. I reckon if alvey showed any interest in going to South they couldn't get the check book out quick enough.

Which 2011 coaches are safe for 2012?
Will they want to stay on?
Who will get the flick?
Who should go?

This would have to be the quietest period on Big Footy as far as Sunraysia goes. Last year their were 17 posts in August so far this season 4.
Are we sick of the bull or are we getting to politically correct. i can think of a couple of juicy news items that we haven't had a crack at lately or are we too worried about offending people. or is that everyone knows who everyone else is?

You can tell its been quiet in the office today. Six minutes to knock off.

Thirty two posts on the CMFL.for august.
