I think he may have been speaking to the St Arnaud secretary usedtobethin.
It seems as if The Talented Mr Ripley may be pretty happy with the numbers walking out at the Eagles. By the look of your previous posts you are a big Euston Bombers man and hoping for a few recruits from them yourself? I think the speculation on the money being paid is a little rough especially when S Motlop is the only one heading to St Arnaud. I think the other two Motlops have allready returned to Darwin and won't be back anywhere down this way.

i heard a whisper that jackson has already signed with another club outside of the region and its not St Arnud, so with all motlops, jackson, moncur, falise and the apparent retirements will R/V even be in the top 4 next yr? sounds like the recuriting department will have a busy off season.

I overheard 2 of his mates bragging about him and the club at the sandbar the other week, apparently it was nhill if i heard right. I could be wrong but they were pretty convinced that he singed.

I am a footy follower in the wimmera football league,Nhill has signed John Jackson from your league.Is he a good recruit?Give me some info on him.
The Tigers have got themselves a real top notch player. Was an on-baller for the Sunraysia league in its big win over Bellarine this year, though was injured early in that game. Was one of the favourites for the league medal this year, as he was the previous two seasons and finished third behind Brad Eaton (who was unfortunately suspended) and eventual winner Mark Alvey (formerly Bulldogs and Essendon). Been a star in Robinvale’s star-studded midfield, which has one premiership and two seconds from the past three years. Clearly in our top three players in the competition. Gets a heap of the ball and does kicks goals.I have heard Andrew Jardine of Ouyen will be assistant coach at Red Cliffs but haven't heard any confirmation of it yet...

Always the smart way to do things. Appoint an Assistant Coach before you even find a coach.
I think Andy is pretty well looked after down at Ouyen so I would be surprised if he left.

word is theyve gone back to big price asking him to go around again because they couldnt get anyone else??? bit of its hard trying to get someone to a club that has won a few games in the last 2 years.

What are their options?
Maybe a non playing coach (one that wont cost them a fortune) with the ability 'to bring on' young players.
Use the money saved to attract some players (select carefully) that will stay around and add something to the club. Maybe players with some connection to the club already.
Its a slow process (ask Irymple ),it will take patience and most likely a couple more years or more in the doldrums.
Hopefully they're not in financial strife like Merbein were, that just makes the process harder.
Junior success alone is not the sole answer. if you check out R/C U 18s they've been in the four on numerous occasions over the past ten years winning the flag in 2003/4 Those blokes would now be in their mid twenties with a hundred games under their belts. They probably aren't around anymore or playing at Nangi or Cardy.
