SFL: UNSW - East Sydney Pre Season Report

This weekend we have our first proper game of the season on Sunday in first and reserve grade which means, i'm still waiting to get my first run as i'm in the Under 18's.

Last Saturday we played a interclub trial out at Moore Park, across the road from the SCG. Unfortunately i couldn't make it as i was playing cricket all day. From all reports there was a good turnout and the skills on show were good. I couldn't quite find out who were the best players on the day.

This week we have a Pre-Season Cup game for first grade against Western Suburbs. From recollection, Wests were about mid-low range in first grade last year, so it's a good first up challange for out team.

Monday night was a very intense night, which included a 3km Time Trial and a 300m Shuttle Run. Some of the top times were around 10min 30secs for the Time Trial and around 55secs for the shuttle run. (Don't know the names of those right up there)

Tonight was more a skills night. Some of the guys look very sharp, and things are coming together for this year. We got a good side, and we are expecting to make the finals in both grades.

Cool, keep up the posts hourn, i'm glad to hear about East Sydney's tilt in the SydneyFL, and I hope to read more about it when the season starts, also i'll be giving updates about Tatura, Murchison, Panton Hill and Mernda and how they're going for this year if you're interested.

Can anyone tell me if the Redbacks are playing in the SFL this year? And is Brett Allison coaching them again?
