Western Bulldogs
I can't ever remember being as embarrassed at the football as I was on the weekend. When Geelong moved Scarlett forward they were literally taking the piss out of us. When we let him take a mark in the square the crowd was pissing themselves with laughter, when he slotted it through the Geelong players were rolling on the ground laughing.

Bulldogs are a joke this season. No wait, in my 25 years I don't remember Geelong supporters ever having to put up with the shit I/We had to on the weekend.

Butane you are obviously a little on the youthful side. The Cats lost four GFs in 6 years and were known as 'The Handbaggers'. Bomber Thompson took the club and turned them into a bunch of hard nuts to be feared by all and completely eradicated the Handbaggers tag. Perhaps a new coach could do the same for us, and help us lose the perpetual loser tag.

A bit like our crowd reaction at Croft's farewell game against North Melbourne. It was a good win for Geelong and a crowd pleaser. All clubs have their good games when the game is over and something like that happens. Williams didn't get body to body contact on the spoil.

Oh to make 1 grand final in my life time! Let alone the 7 that Geelong have in 22 years! That's nearly 1 GF every 3 years.

Their worst season in about a quarter of a decade is just outside finals and even then everybody involved gets sacked or threatened with it.

Regardless, not the point. It was as embarrassing/humiliating as a football experience can get.

I feel Butane's sentiments. Scott was having a direct go at Eade and completely mocking him (from a coaching perspective), and Eade wasnt able to change or adapt to the conditions. Must be awful to get out coached by a first year rookie...

There is alot of things wrong at the moment and I sincerely hope that the problems are addressed before the club falls deeper into crisis.

Yep, Scott really showed complete disregard for what our team had to offer in terms of opposition. Rocket has no weapons left, there was never going to be a player step up and turn it around, there were no moves to be made that might turn the tide. They were just superior in every aspect of the game, including those intrinsic things like desire, toughness and application.

It has to sting, surely. Rocket seemed to think that the performance was an improvement though. Sorry lads but you are being treated as a joke and deservedly so. Bringing shame to the Club with the way they go about the game.

Doesnt matter when you got players Kelly, Selwood, Enright, Corey, Ottens, Bartel, Taylor and Scarlett in the team. Not only that they are missing Chapman who I rate as the greatest finals player of the last decade. Even I can coach a premiership with that lot.

Eade's biggest problem relates to his futile game plan, I feel we are getting destroyed in this aspect as our gameplan leads to a lot of players (ours and opposition) congested in certain areas thus the pressure is higher and subsequently lowers the kicking efficiency of our entire team which is as bad as you can get in the age of the forward press. Not only that these congested players are unable to present as targets further up the field leading to our perceived lack of run and work rate. Its not a shock really when you notice some our best kicks have dropped significantly in efficiency and as a whole across the board.

Anyone tape the tv coverage? Hear what Blight said about 4 minutes into the game when Williams got crunched in the ruck? Why wasn't minson rucking when he was on the groung and the game had only been going under 5 minutes? It sums up where we're at. A complete rabble and the coach has lost control.

Agree :thumbsu:

We are a joke. Can't ever remember being so disappointed as I have been this season.

After three losing PF's in a row, it looks as though the senior group has just turned up its heels, because it's just all too difficult.

The sort of weak, insipid efforts we've put in this year have been disgraceful and an embarassment to the jumper.

Geelong and their supporters were laughing at us and the worst thing about it is we probably won't get to return the favour for a long, long time, if we get to return it at all.

Time for change and if that means we have a new president, new coach and have to turnover a dozen players, then so be it. I've had a gutful.

Poor attitude, poor culture, poor work rate....the list goes on.

That was right in front of me & our players should have felt humiliated. I felt humiliated watching, no respect from the opposition, treating us with total disdain.
Players seem to be going thru the motions, not a great look, I think a total team restructure is needed.
Im hearing you Butane, one of the worst feelings Ive ever had at the footy.

Surely we have to win it one day ! Even the Boston Redsox Baseball Team broke their "Curse of the Bambino" after 86 years ! lol !

I really don't know what we have to do to turn our fortunes around ???

Interesting listening to the Haw-Freo game on ABC Radio yesterday. The comment was how much poorer Hawthorn's kicking looked when they were playing a team that actually manged to man-up. Against the Bulldogs Haw had huge numbers of uncontested possession since we simply occupied space allowing them to pass to uncontested players all day.

Pretty telling indictment of our archaic game plan really. Next time I hear of one of our forwards battling agaisnt 3 opponents i want to cry.

Great post, couldn't agree more regarding the game plan.
