I am not sure about culture, clubs bring in a lot of external people to produce results and wouldn't put it past some people to cheat to get ahead.

I am more optimistic that being poor doesn't give us the capability to blow shitloads of money on shonky drugs before we get a tip-off by some cop who supports the club that the federal police are investigating.

Not suggesting any of the above happened of course.

I think people are too quick to put the boot into Essendon, there are probably a lot of clubs that are vulnerable.

Just so you know, people can be convicted in criminal trials on circumstantial evidence alone. Collect enough of it, and it can be all that's needed to dispel any reasonable doubt.
There's a woman in a Tasmanian prison convicted of murdering her husband based entirely on circumstantial evidence. Quite a startling case actually.

I think I read about that a few weeks ago. Daughter (from an earlier marriage) is totally convinced that she is innocent, if I recall correctly. The husband's offspring are totally convinced she's guilty. It was an interesting story, and serves to underline my point.

I am not one to blindly berate the media, but I am also not one to consider media reports as "evidence"
Fair enough but I clearly recall you stating "this doesn't look good" few times during this saga upon hearing something regarding this subject in the same media you're doubting. And thats not even asking for an honest answer how many times you thought this but refrained from showing it on this board ;)

I am not immune from being affected by it. And it doesn't look good. Even the best case scenario isn't really flash.

Wouldn't surprise me if Vlad got up and said those exact words at the end of all this.

From the way I read it, Charters is agreeing to dob on everyone so that he can look principled and in the wash up get himself a job with the AFL in some sort of anti-drugs role.

It's probably not a bad card to play even if it's a pair of twos. If Essendon or Dank had an ace they would have played it by now.

Given the comment was about charters interview and he stated he didnt believe his comments would incriminate Essendon players I think youre wrong

he was very careful about his wording.

He said "individual players".

They just need to put together a case, they don't need positive tests. Think Lane Armstrong. It won't be one golden bullet that takes them down it will be a thousand cuts.

@RobedSinners:" The evidence I'll give shouldn't incriminate #Essendon players" Shane Charters on @3aw693

He also said he hoped Essendon players were cleared but realised that was ASADAs call.

Charters was asked if his evidence would incriminate individual players. He said it wouldn't. Prior to that he was asked if the evidence he would give would be good or bad for Essendon. He replied simply that it would be factual testimony.

That's not exactly what Charter said. Did you listen to it live?
