Could he be worth a look at, he is a known ball winner and an inside player. I know he is 27 but could be the sort of player we need in our midfield. He lead the AFL in hard ball gets which we need to improve on and was 2nd in contested possessions before being put on the outer when Jade Rawlings took over. I think his hard nosed approach would compliment Murphy & Gibbs and give opposition midfielders someone else to worry about apart from Juddy. What is everyones opinions?

would be ideal in our midfield I must admit. And not sure why, but something tells me he's the type that play into his 30's without losing too much

If cheap, you'd have take a look

piss hadley off back up to brisbane and get tuckey with that pick, a true win for us if we can do that deal. tuckey alot better than hadley.

I would have him at Carlton for sure, as long as his disposal is good. No point picking up a player with those good stats if he leads the turnover count as well though. Could this be another Richmond blunder ? Hardwick wants to make sure they finish 9th or so, otherwise his contract may be cut short if he gets them to the finals.

tucky has decent skills, but even if they are a little below par i would still take him as he adds a genuine tough in and under player feeding the pill out to the great one.

There was another Tuck thread started about a week ago........which I assume has been eaten by the "trade speculation" merged thread.

I don't think it was his skills that is the issue.

Like Bentick and Hadley, Tuck isn't blessed with pace, and if he doesn't win the footy he is generally a liability going the other way.

We should have a look, but question whether he will be better for us in three years time (when I believe our "window" opens) than Grigg, Hadley or Robinson.

Probably not, but if he comes really cheap then he is probably better than whoever we might draft in the third or fourth round this year......maybe even second the way "they" are talking.

Hadley is MUCH better than Tuck. Tucks poor decision making and kicking has been an issue down at Tigerland. It's been hidden a little because 99% of his teammates are unskilled and have little idea. It's taken Hadley a while to get his body right, but we're just now seeing glimpses of how valuable he'll be to our side. Crazy to let him go now. :)

Just having a think about it, Brisbane can get Raines & Hadley, Richmond are rebuilding so they will want picks. So how about this?

a 3 way trade

Carlton trade Richard Hadley & 3rd Round Draft Pick to Richmond for Shane Tuck

Richmond trade Richard Hadley & Andrew Raines to Brisbane for Brisbane's 2nd Round Draft Pick

that means
Carlton
gain = Shane Tuck
lose = Richard Hadley & 3rd Pick

Richmond
gain = Brisbanes 2nd Pick & Carlton's 3rd Pick
lose = Shane Tuck & Andrew Raines

Brisbane
gain = Andrew Raines & Richard Hadley
lose 2nd Pick

Is that far off the mark?

Just found his stats from this season. After having a look i think they stack up nicely. Not sure his stats follow people's perceptions of his use of the ball.

In recent years, we have traded for Hadley, picked up Bentley, and kept Bentick on the list.

While all have perhaps shown signs, none have so far been able to cement a spot for varying reasons.

I'd be very surprised if we didn't make a decent attempt to pick him up.
