Wellingham is looking very good. In a lot of midfields he would struggle to get a game, but we haven't exactly been setting the world on fire in that department. Hence, his position is reasonably secure if he can maintain some level of consistency. And that is the problem with inexperienced players. But I'm backing him! :thumbsu:

Kids are found out as the season progresses and dont be suprised if that happens to sharrod. Alot of upside but am weary of giving him these accolades this early! Dont think its fair for the likes of Iles who played an awesome game against sydney and got no where. I dare say that his performances are even better then sharrods at the VFL level.

Will be good to see how sharrod stands up against the cats! there will be no where to hide...

Did the club a favor by getting rid of that nerve-wracking sponsorship, and it's been replaced anyway. I'd say he cost the club little or nothing money-wise.
You "dare say" Iles has been better. Yep that is quite daring if you haven't even seen the games. No he hasn't, though I think he's going OK.
 
Wellingham will be a gun.
He should have been in our side a little earlier.Will be good when barham,macarthy move into our midfield as well.
Wellingham provides the zip we need.

Matt Rosa has perfected the hospital "up and under" foot pass, and plays as a tall outside linking player who relies on his endurance to accumulate stats (before butchering the ball). Is an athlete playing football.

Wellingham has a nice flat foot pass and hits target regularly (still adjusting to AFL tempo and has missed a couple in recent weeks before adjusting quickly). He is like a moth to a flame when the ball hits the deck and loves the inside tough stuff. Is a natural footballer.

Sorry to disagree BEEG, but I'd actually go so far as to say that they are contrasting types!

Nah thats fair enough just reminds me of Rosa how he glides around the ground

Havnt seen enough of him also reminds me of Pendles a bit to maybe its there body shape and height

NOt better then wellingham?! the one game i did see, wellingham was avereage, iles a tad better. But the key to my point is iles game against the swans last year! it was outstanding

The best top level game I have seen Iles play was against the saints last year and he was still average at best. He was the anti pendles at time in that Pendles has all the time in the world when his got the ball where as Iles appeared to have no time at all his composure was terrible.

Wellingham clearly has the more upside to his game in that he is harder at it and more composed and that is really what we need. Not another outside player who is ok one on one, runs well but makes bad choices with the ball

Wellingham has better disposal
More space
More composure
More athletic
Better decision making
Is younger
Can play inside and out

Iles has average disposal, average pace, poor composure, good endurance, but isn't agile at all.

Tell me why Iles is better.

His top pace is good, seems to be slow off the mark though, his disposal is good hen he has time, although that is often negated by his poor composure. IMO his a Ben Davies MK2 or poor man's Swan

Time is something he wont have in an AFL midifield.

I'd try to sign him as a permanent VFL player for the future. He's a good VFL player, just lacking the attributes for AFL.

Shame, as I held high hopes for him once.

thats your opininon. have you been to any vfl matches over the last two years?just curious thats all.

you guys should be happy
looks like he wants to make an impact on the game
kind of a flashy smaller pendlebry?
 
IMO at the current stages of both their careers, it's inconcievable to think that iles is better than wellingham.

wellingham has showed in 2 games more than iles has showed in his 5-6. If iles show something before the year is out he may be shown the door.
