Would think our 3rd round pick should get the deal done if we have in fact put a contract on the table, as his manager inferred

agree .....but they might bundle up with other picks.
Otherwise he goes to PSD which i think GWS won't want either ......they can give the pick to Port to help get Polec
On the money, my understanding is that Essendon is the only other club to show interest however we are the only club to put forward a contract offer at this stage
With this in mind if Edwards did chose Adelaide as his preferred club our 3rd round pick would be higher than Essendon's 3rd round selection
If Edwards selects us we should get his done

Did someone say, he grew (had some living time) up in a Golden Grove?
Thought I read somewhere on the GWS site that he was drafted from North Adelaide??? Did helay his last under 18 game there? No other reports suggest anything about North Adelaide so maybe the Giants have put up the wrong info.

I read somewhere we have offered a contract, and that he wants to come. Imagine it's waiting on some other machinations to play out first.

That's Shane Edwards from Richmond who played for GGFC & North - He won't be returning anytime soon. But as mentioned before - wrong info for wrong player

I think this one might be a touch difficult to get! We want him, he is open to us but GWS also wants him. There will be no PSD threat because the kid will not want out knowing GWS have a pick before us and wants to keep him.
Our 3rd round pick won't be used by GWS or us for that matter so its useless and I doubt we would want to trade pick 23 for him. As much as I would like them to, I doubt GWS would just give him away to us.

Why won't you're third round pick be used. Don't you need to make three selections at the draft according to the rules?

Ah OK, forgot you could do that. I think maybe crouch didn't count as a selection last year which caused me the confusion?
I'm pretty sure we'd use our 3rd round pick in the draft if we still have it, but we're saying GWS would have no use for it in the national draft and therefore would not be interested in Edwards for our 3rd round.
GWS currently have picks 1,2,21,22. They can make 4 selections and be out of the draft by pick 22. Unless they want a mature ager in the draft around our pick in mid 40s????
