Shaun Tait quits cricket indefinitely

He is saying that he rises to the occasion moreso in State Cricket. Im sure its Good news for the Australian Selecters who now don't have halfwit "fans" crying to the media that Tait doesn't get a go. They can now Back their first choice (Johnson) as he develops into one of the worlds premiere Pacemen
since when do selectors pick the fans favourite? If this was the case Watson and Katich would never of played for Australia.

Tait deserved his chance, nobody cannot deny that, he didnt grab his chance due to circumstances, but to say it is a good thing for the selectors screams ignorance.

No evidence .. just knowledge. He strained his groin during the warm ups. That is why Ponting held him back for as long as he did.

No disrespect to you or RGB - but how do you know that?

If that is the case - why the hell did he play?

If the selectors or Ponting or whoever thought that a half fit Tait was better than Hogg, why the hell was Hogg then selected in the starting line up for Adelaide?

I agree to a certain extent. IMO Ponting had a pretty poor series as captain and used Tait poorly. That being said Tait was mainly responsible for his poor performance because he simply bowled badly.

for Christ sake cry me a river,The guys on 600k to bowl a cricket ball.Sure the training and playing can be hard but if you love the sport you'll do it and the added bonus of 600k thank you very much

And, to his credit, he's considering throwing it away because he feels he's lost the love of the game.

I hope he gets himself right, I love watching him play.

He believed his own hype, and can't face the fact he is not YET good enough to play consistently for Australia.

Quitting is Un-Australian and weak! Gutless Shaun Tait has lost any respect I might have had for him.

Maybe he should check his heretige, maybe he can take the easy route to national duties by playing for another country!

WEAK, WEAK, WEAK, WEAK, WEAK Shaun Tait
maybe you should check your spelling Dunce before being so critical.

Some people on this forum actually know a little bit about what goes on due to having good contacts, as opposed to 95% of posters on this forum who wouldn't have a clue.

My involvement in cricket over the years as both a player and an official has given me some very good contacts who from time to time offer information.

Just believe me ... in this case, I know.
