Shaw open to move - GWS the nominated club of choice post #1927

I have been floating the Patton idea without any response on this forum for a while. Why is he not a viable target? GWS are more than likely taking Boyd and we have the player/picks to make it happen. I don't know about you guys but if given the choice I'd take Patton over Adams.

Probably his perceived cost, and the fact that GWS probably don't want to part with a kid they haven't even gotten a full season of footy out of yet. They'd be demanding an absurd cost, and perhaps even we don't want to throw a hail mary for a kid who's knees have been atrocious and he's only 20? I just don't see us getting Patton this offseason, maybe in a couple years :p

I agree it would be a massive gamble with his knee issues, but after seeing the dom Tyson deal, I think it could be doable. Tyson while not being a kpf, was a top pick who has been decimated by a knee issue. GWS were happy to trade him albeit for a slightly higher pick. As well as being in a similar situation career and injury wise, Patton has serious competition from boyd who plays in the same position. For the right offer I think GWS could bite....

Tyson was different as he had no history of knee problems whereas Patton had an existing issue which is obviously going to have to be heavily managed over his career. Tyson was just a PCL injury on the training track. I think if Franklin had landed at GWS then either Patton or Boyd wouldn't be there next year, but as it stands I can see Cameron - Patton - Boyd in the same forward line with Boyd playing deep in his first year. Scary prospect.

Real scary if they all stay. I just figure that Hine would be working with some degree of foresight that would see our need for a future key forward. Im not to keen on pinning all hope on Moore, and a part of me still thinks there might be something in the "big fish" rumours.

We can get Patton if we make the deal attractive enough as I have stated previously. Personally I would prefer to get Patton given he has had 2 season of AFL football and is a mountain of a man.

Not sure I'd call 7 games 2012 & 3 in 2013 2 seasons of AFL football.
As much as we need a key forward I'd prefer we use 6 and 10 in the draft to get top talent in middle or utility, especially when suggestions are next year's draft is the one for key position players.

Is Patton any less injury risk than Thomas?
Salary aside, it would be a very epensive risk.
Unless we can get him for pick 6 Goldsack & Blair, which we can't then, then I'd rather draft 2 players with 6 & 10. even at pick 6 and two players it is a big investment.

Shaw for Adams, get Karnezis either through PSD or with pick 67 and go home, that will do me.

As we stand we have 5 list spots available with the acquisition of White. Shaw and Adams cancel each other out.

Therefore the three options to make up the numbers obviously assuming 6 & 10 are locked in (only the most naive of supporters could contemplate trading them!!!)

1. 67 for Karnezis and upgrade 2 rookies.
2. Karnezis PSD and upgrade 2 rookies or
3. Karnezis PSD, live pick at 67 and rookie upgrade.

We're pretty limited in terms of options now so I'd really like to see Karnezis in the PSD. It certainly appears that the Gault haters will be disappointed as we're struggling to make up the numbers let alone have the luxury of cutting another player.

Maybe because people on here don't actual do the trading....just a wild guess

People on here may not do the trading, but they do offer up opinions on who should be selected or traded, even when these opinions represent minority views. I would rather posters back their judgement right or wrong than sit on the fence sniping at views with which they don't agree.
