Well that was up to them I guess, but they realistically had no chance of making it if they didn't chase and the target if they batted very well was gettable, not easy but it should not have been, but not impossible. They shut up shop too early considering David Hussey was at the wicket.
I'm not saying anything about whether the target was good or bad from Tassie's POV. I'm saying from Vic's POV once they lost the wickets they did at the time they did, they lost all chance of chasing the target down. Dussey and Handscomb were not getting 5.5 odd an over from 5/120 odd chasing 330 odd. And so with the QLD-WA result likely to come after the TAS-VIC game was finished, they had to at least leave themselves with a chance of making the final - the draw. Vic's response following Tea has been understandable and just.

U dont shut up shop while D.Hussy is at the crease plus they had hasting to come who hit them along way they shut up shop way to early, Also its better to leave your fate in your own hands than other teams.

As ive said earlier i be shocked if the QLD and WA game dosent get the result but if it does end in the draw well good luck to them.

Fair enough phone. But given what was at stake to me it was an error I think they shut up shop one wicket too soon. And the outcome of the draw is end of season demonstrates that. We'll disagree.... as normal

I understand that sentiment, but the chances of a draw when both teams NEED a result, virtually nil IMHO. Victoria were better off hoping for a miracle off their own bat rather than hoping for one in the West.

Four teams need wins, three teams playing for one ;)

There was simply no way Dussey was heroically lifting Victoria home. Nil. Zero. More chance of a draw at the WACA. Tassie's bowlers are too good, and the pitch too old and playing too many tricks, for a stand of 210 runs at 5 an over to happen. And by tricks, I mean the ball not bouncing as expected every now and then. That 'trick' alone was enough to ruin any chance of said partnership happening.

I disagree of course it was going to be tough but to say it was a zero chance dont agree with that, Yes the pitch is up and down but there has been plenty of runs in this game so far.

I'll bite.

Explain please?

Dear god Sherb as a Tasmanian I'm surprised you don't know... Let me see if I can find the sound track of Brett Geeves media conference question from a year ago representing an FM radio station that almost made him decredentialed . Something along the lines of asking Hussey about two catches he's claimed two catches against Tasmania that bounced how many has he claimed in his career?

There is no love for D Hussey in the Tas dressing rooms

He also didn't walk when Triffit caught him despite Tassie all certain of it. The umpire chicken shitted the call and Bailey abused them both.
