I can't stand the constant references to mateship, bravery etc and how they're so relevant to football.
It's a sport. It's entertainment. It is not war. There's no glory in war- just a lot of blood.
ANZAC day lost much of its meaning years ago.

My lordy, are you completely stupid? The fact is although not invaded, Australia had to give up a massive amount of its population and way of life to assist other countries in need. The war was essentially not a problem for us, yet we still fought to the death over and over again. **** off flog.

Did you see my post about actual casualty rates ? It was the Brits and turks who paid the highest price, but its not the biggest thing in their history

Nobody in here is saying that it's right, but unfortunately, a game of AFL has coincided with Anzac Day becoming bigger and more appreciated than it's ever been.
