Hey Guys,

Just a question. I'm thinking of heading down to Skilled this weekend, and I was just wondering how they operate. Do they have the barcode scanners down there. I have an 18 game membership with the Hawks, and wanted to use that to enter the ground. Do they still have General Admission area. I haven't headed down there in a while

Thanks

No they dont have barcode scanners, all you do is show them your membership, and they look at it, and walk in... Arrive early though due to reduced capacity.

Last year, the Skilled Stadium people used the old clipper hole-punchers, and took out some chunk of the card, but not this year... just showed it to the old lady and let me through.

Please note that gates open at 12pm.

------------------------------------------------------
BTW,the gates open earlier than 12pm,because theres a U/18 curtain raiser starting at 10.45am.

We were stressing about all getting in and sitting in our miniscule Cheer Squad area, but we all got in with no problem at all.One guy even showed his Sydney-based Swans membership to get in. And the old codger on the gate just nodded and let him in.

I like Kardinia for some reason. It really has that country feel about it.

They still use the hole-punchers, my membership card looks like it was accidentally left at a shooting range.

Dont knock Skilled, it will be a very smart little stadium next year when the redevelopment is complete...and it will be all ours .

Givin the number of shocking games I have seen there in appalling conditions... you would have to say 'Skilled Stadium' is a rather ironic title.

Think you'll find that the curtain raiser match has been shifted to Werribee, apparently so the ground doesn't get too chopped up. Can't confirm it but pretty sure it has.

Only shocking to outsiders, they are superb to us. Brings back memories of real football, in atmosphere, conditions and a true home ground advantage.

I'll be pretty darn p*ssed if it is, was looking forward to seeing Lewis, Meesen and the Gooleys in action.

Ground must have crap drainage.

To 'coasting' how many games can you name in appaling conditions in the last five years at Skilled Stadium? I can not think of more than 2

You must remember that to some sheltered souls, a breath of wind is considered appalling conditions.

Yeah, it's amazing. The amount of games played in the cold and wind and rain, you'd think Footy was an outdoor game played in winter... oh, wait...

It warms the heart that opposition supporters hate it so much.

A lot of supporters would never have seen their club win at KP. Might have something to do with the hate.
Is it 16 years for Melbourne now?

Anyhow, it's a great ground, great surface and we love it.
It is a fantastic asset for the club - we make 1/2 a million a game at KP and now that no one can win down there again, even better!
