Smoking - yes or no?

It is a blight on society and costs us millions to care for them once they become diseased.
So those that are old enough - thoughts

Each to their own really. Didn't smoke till I was 32 when I got divorced. Working in my industry is full of smokers and big drinkers, very hard to avoid. Gave up but have had a few sneaky ones over the last few tumultuous weeks.

Should of had another choice, social smoker....(sounds like a few woman I know)

I'm a former smoker and I know plenty of family and friends who do.

Nagging a smoker is just as bad as bible bashing, grown up people can make grown up decisions.

Doesn't worry me if people smoke. Maybe around babies etc. but other then that it's fine. I'm more worried about the Fatty foods these days.

And what about the others option? Like casual or maybe even some "home-grown" material?

It is the thing I am determined to make people see the light of day about.
And by the vote it looks like my work is going well so far. Good to see you guys changing your ways!
Amazed in Melb how many people are still on the death nails!
Just trying to help MBIB (be it in a slanted manner - watched my grandad rot from smoking and as an athlete have felt how bad just passive smoking is)

Blah blah blah, heard it all before.

I quit for 3 years and then started smoking socially again at the start of last year which then turned into full time smoking again at the start of this year.

At the moment I enjoy having a cigarette so no plans to quit anytime soon.

I know, you're not nagging though.
I agree that it's no good for you but when I was smoking I knew that. I'll also admit those ads work because it's scary to think what it can do.
I've had relatives die from it and mum smokes and coughs, it's awful to watch. They know my stance and it's no good to dwell. I guess people have to learn in their own time. I live by the 'everything happens for a reason' philosophy under every circumstance.

This is way too serious for me

You do know that it causes lung cancer! It is also 2% worse for the people breathing in your tar sticks.

Shame, Shame, Shame!;)

Go girl...... Its a decision which we all know the consequences of... Its called Choice.

Solid smoker for 31 years, went cold turkey 7 months ago... still going but sometimes still get that feeling, its something you really must convince your self that you need to do and you have to have a good enough reason for you. I know people no matter how much the price goes up they will always still not go without there smokes.I was the same myself, i would go without food as long as i had my smokes so normally the price is not a good enough reason. We all know its bad for ya and if we don't those sick picks on the smoke packet will let you know haha, i even seen a guy ask the girl at coles one day if she could change his pack of smokes he just bought cos he didn't like the pick on it:rolleyes:.Its not a easy thing to do so it's best to plan for it... maybe set yourself a date not to long in the futue but not to short either....maybe 3 weeks.Expect hell in the first couple of days and i meen hell,in those first couple of days i kept telling myself if i went back to smoking that was it, i would never ever quit and would smoke till the day i died. You Really have to be serious,100% honest with yourself because if your not you will fail for sure.
best of luck to all that try!
