It was 8 votes, tied with Ball. Ratten would have given his boyfriend the 5, and Malthouse him the 3, so in conclusion you are an idiot.
 
Oops sorry last time I use bigfooty as a reference! Unlike most of you jerks I am not one eyed and can admit a mistake. Judd- 2010 brownlow medallist. Dane swan coaches award. 2 greats of the game!
 
fwiw i thought judd was bog that day and swan 2nd. He had 37 possies and a stack of hbg's so no issue with the 3 votes. Im just not sure how mids and get 3 votes with 17 possies and low kicking effeciancy. Judd is a gun and I certainly lose no sleep over him winning the medal. More often than not the favorite or best player for that season does not win. Being an umpires award and a 3,2,1 system you are often going to get voting that is at odds with all the other awards. Good luck to judd he is a gun, its just a pity he plays for a back of arrogant pigs.
 
Swan played perhaps the best game of his career against Port, and single handedly turned the game in a 2nd quarter (18 quality disposals) of unbelieveable proportions after we were down by 6 goals at 1/4 time. One of the best games I've seen from a Collingwood player in my life, and certainly in the Top 3 in terms of influence on the result.

David Rodan kicked a couple of flashy goals from stoppages when the game had been decided. Swan polled 2 and Rodan 3.

Swan wasn't robbed in Round 6, and I wouldn't argue that he was robbed of the Brownlow. But only polling BOG in 2 games for the year is an oversight from the umpires of epic proportions.

Last year, Carlton as a club polled more votes than us and even this year despite finishing top we polled only 79 total votes (carlton 74), compared to Geelong as an example - 104. We just don't get rewarded enough in our wins, no matter who the player is that gets them.

It just seems that too often, opposition players poll 2 or 3 votes against us when we have won games by 7+ goals. Yet when we lose by less than a few kicks the votes often all go to the opposition. Very strange, but regular occurence.

Just as an example, we played Melbourne twice this year for 1 win and a draw. Of the 12 votes available in the 2 games, we polled 3 of them....

We actually got 89 votes. Second only to Geelong.

We also had the MOST players poll a vote, which further reinforces our evenness across the board.

Ball dominates clearances and kicks 3 goals, Judd runs around and turns it over in the forward line 9 times!
 
If I'm not mistaken Dane Swan did win the coaches award and Chris Judd finished about 5th. So I'm guessing most supporters agree with the coaches completely.

You're welcome to check my posting record. I admit my mistakes, apologies and get on with what I was doing without calling those who rightly exposed my error "jerks".

If I had posted a clear troll thread designed clearly to provoke which failed on every level I would be very apologetic.

Not that strange a logic. Many Magpie fans have claimed Swan to be BOG in that game and used it to highlight why Judd is an undeserving winner. And yes he finished 5th in the coaches award; he was also fourth favourite for the medal, which places him squarely in the group of players most likely to win the award.

The rest is just lack of grace and sportsmanship!

First of all I'm not arguing whether or not Judd deserved three votes that day I agreed with Malthouse that Ball was BOG that day and that Judd deserved 2 votes. Second, I was trying to point out that the OP was using flawed logic because he used votes from an award, that he didn't even research, to prove that Judd deserved to win the Brownlow in a veiled attempt at a troll on my club.

I have no idea who you are referring to when you make comments such as "lack of grace and sportsmanship".

Barlow, Sandilands & Judd were the best 3 players in that game, based on their impact on the game. Barlow was clearly best on ground & Sandilands probably was a touch better than Judd, but my view comes from watching it on TV. The umpires have a much better view of the game & see stuff that none of us can see (particularly at clearances).
