Sounds gettable to me.

Beveridge has not once taken the WB to a top 4 finish in the H&A season despite a premiership and grand final appearance.

Any non-biased judge would acknowledge the umpires gave the Bulldogs the flag in 2016 on GF day.

Beveridge isn’t the answer and don’t think he will coach after his current role concludes.

I’d rather Corey Enright, I think he ticks the boxes.

No no. I'm with you here. Football is football.

I'd agree. But we keep getting them.... Why?

I think in most sports and most measures 4 years for a trajectory of improvement to become apparent (internal metrics NOT win/loss) is more than enough and much more than other codes offer.

Completely agree. Bolts requires the senior advisor. The pies figured that out too when their foot department split after bolts and the other nuffbag couldn't work together and just power struggled each other.

This is the main thing I disagree with. Why tf does he need to be a superstar. We already have those. We just need consistency from the rest. Lowering the highs. Heightening the lows - ie consistency - is part and parcel of situation / framework / training ethic and fitness. We've already cycled through 3 fitness bosses this rebuild... 3 coaches.... 100+ players.... Looks like it's just spinning a wheel and going nowhere wrt setting up a system that actually can recruit develop and perform with any consistency

Cool! So Voss did or didn't want this direction for the team and build a squad no one else would want...?!?! What...???

As I've said I've been around pro sports, I've just worked with Wests as they've turned their fortunes around and seen the imbeciles on the board, through the imbeciles stealing paychecks at grass roots be reviewed removed and changed. They stuck with Benji because they felt he'd never had a fair crack with the horrible setups around him - list management - pathways - Dev coaches etc etc. So they changed all of those areas and built a better list - not perfect ofc and said now we need improvement Benji. The club's finally doing their part.

So what are you saying Voss is doing his part and the club isn't ? Because yet again I stress. The players are the god damn manifestation of the disease. They are never the disease itself.

Carlton doesn't have the list to do any better than make finals and even that is a good achievement off the back of half a team. In this context, IMO Voss has over achieved.

I think Voss has tried to substitute effort for class and ability - but that is just the cards he has been dealt.

On here the memetic tone changes week to week according to W/L for the most part . Right now Voss is in negative territory and has been since the bye last year - no one cares about reasons or excuses.

As for players- they are what they are- as I stated previously - if they aren't pushing for a spot in firsts after two years (maybe 3 years for a tall one) bye bye.

Bevin has won a premiership from outside the top 4, Enright has proven nothing.

Get John Longmire in to assist/overseer role. Voss still the head man with some awesome back up support. We are in desperate need for some circuit breaker, before it is all gone.
yep - do this. let Voss continue to grow and learn. probably no-one in the current batch of assistants who he would listen to in this way

(Hansen maybe?)

Matthews and Malthouse?
Correct and notably no flags won by a second time coach in the last 15 years - Malthouse in 2010 was the last.

I’m not at the sack Voss point yet, despite some serious misgivings, but if we head down this path, we need a coach for how the game will be played in 2026 onwards, not how it was played 5 or 10 years ago. Fortunately Wright has been involved with hiring successful coaches, most recently McCrae, so he may have an eye for it, unlike others in the past who have chased the big name. Look forwards, not backwards.

Matthews and Malthouse?
I would add Roos/handover to that list, as they were a rabble and wouldn't have had the success without him as the foundation (In my opinion).

Also, deeming success purely based on premierships is simplistic.

Lyon took Freo to a GF which is a fantastic achievement in anyone's language. We haven't been in a GF this century!

He had the Saints draw a GF and before that was beaten a kick by the Geelong juggernaut. That St.Kilda side is arguably the best team to never win a flag.

So I would include grand finals (not just premierships) to the definition of success.

I know Longmire lost his last 4 GF's, but we can't even imagine playing in 1 let alone 4.

Why is that?

Some of the experienced coaches have won multiple flags so why would you choose one over another?

What do you see specifically with horse?
Longmire doesn't vocally dribble on with all the new-speak cliches like a lot of coaches.(including Voss)
I've no idea if he has all the tactical solutions, but he's a man of fewer words...and people tend to listen when he speaks.

Is there any assistant coaches with similar traits?

Why do you care how a coach answers questions to the press after a game it is bleedingly OBVIOUS that Voss has been coached to promote memberships and supporter attendance at games as hsi #1 priority in these Media interviews. What incentive does any coach have to tell TV audiences anything?

I have more respect for him when he clearly stated before the Hawthorn match- " it doesn't matter what words are spoken it is on field peformance that counts.."

What do you want Vos to do exactly - point the efinger at the gross ineptitude of the players - jump up and down as a losing coach about rubbish ump calls or the absence of a mandatory free kick and 50 meters that want paid for interchange fringement?

I find criticism of coaches based on their media performance as an irrelevancy - I just dont get it.
