Re: A-League 2011/2012 Kits

Looks good. I hope I'm not the only one in saying this but I hate the A-League font. It looks so tacky.

Re: A-League 2011/2012 Kits

I hate it too. To the point where i'm holding off on buying a shirt till they change it.

I've got a Heart shirt with Worm #7 printing and it's already peeling. Got it under two months ago, not happy.

Re: A-League 2011/2012 Kits

I have a 2009/10 Scott Parker 8 Hammers shirt, proper EPL numbering/lettering in plastic, and it is yet to show signs of peeling. Conversely my Glory away shirt from 2007 had its logos (no QBE unfortunately) cracking and falling away within 6 months. I guess they are just an inferior quality over here.

I know it's trivial but the kit lineup of BR vs AU this weekend will be interesting... United's red obviously clashes badly with bright orange, but now Wolv..sorry, Roar have black as their secondary we could see an unavoidable 'clash' of shorts - the first time I can remember in the A-League?
The league's been pretty good with it in the past, having compulsory white away kits probably helped. The EPL aren't so hard on this rule, it seems clubs only change shorts when they are happy and capable.

Re: A-League 2011/2012 Kits

Brisbane Roar could wear an all orange kit against a full black United strip. The Dutch have worn orange shorts and socks with their classic top, and it looks wonderful.

But I don't think the Roar have a pair of orange shorts and stockings.

Re: A-League 2011/2012 Kits

I don't get how they'll clash? Is Brisbane home?
The kits won't clash, however both teams will wear black shorts. This, as far as I'm aware, has yet to occur in the A-League.
It's not a real 'clash' issue, hence the use of inverted commas.

Socks would be another issue. At all levels of soccer, contrasting pairs must be worn for obvious reasons.

It's just an observation, interesting as it is quite the opposite to our more familiar AFL regulations.

Re: A-League 2011/2012 Kits

I'm watching the Mariners v Perth game now. It's the first time I've seen the Mariners kit in action, and I have to say I like it. The Perth away kit is all class as well :thumbsu:

Re: A-League 2011/2012 Kits

CCM's kit had potential, but i just can't help thinking it looks like a wetsuit with the awfully extensive inverse stitching. Then again, as "Mariners", maybe that's the look there were going for ;)

Glory's away top is the best shirt they've ever had, perhaps bar the last away NSL one (love the sunburst)

Re: A-League 2011/2012 Kits

Perhaps a thread renaming is in need. Keeping the emphasis on Australia's footballing tops might be good. 'A-League and soccer kits', or, 'Australian and international soccer kits'?

Anyway, the leaks get earlier every season. The current campaign is barely half over, yet our first leak is upon us. A high profile kit it is: The 2012/2013 Manchester United home shirt.

For those doubtful, I am extremely confident this is legitimate. In years of following FSC, they have barely posted a wrong leak - I can remember maybe one or two. The strip is likely to be in celebration of Sir Alex's (ol' Red Face) 25th season in charge - thus the tartan. The away shirt, can be subtly seen here, seems to be a blue version.
