Fairly certain they've said there will be a league wide "brand refresh" for 2017/18 in line with the new TV deal and have encouraged all clubs to follow suit

IGA's away kit for the 2016/17 season.

That's beautiful.

I'm a fan of it. It was depressing that we were stuck with the horrendous rashie skivvies from Kappa for two years...I couldn't update my ISC jersey until Nike came around.

Well don't update then, no one's forcing you to. I'm not a fan of clubs swindling the fans for money every single year because they know people will buy it. Victory fans are the worst for it, that stupid Archie commemorative jersey released the other day sold out in hours. They will buy anything.

The A-League has always been good in enforcing a two-year rule for home kits (and usually away kits as well) and we can all remember a time when the Premier League did the same. In fact it was Arsenal who was the last team to uphold the two year tradition I believe.

I was personally waiting for a decent kit to buy, Reebok, ISC, and Kappa all failed. Nike delivered with last season's away kit so I'm good for a few years now.

How good would it be without a sponsor... the difference is incredible, so much cleaner.

I still don't get this though and this kit will frustrate me. Why didn't they use the actual template that is based on? Every other third Adidas club has it. The higher chevron will look less bothersome than this – this shirt will have three stacks; logos, v, sponsor, instead of the logo and v being merged into one as is on the usual template. Plus the stripes down the side would have made the top half way less busy.

Maybe the club released this as it knew Essien was coming a while ago, and wanted to capitalise on that?

Overall, the shirt is clean looking but this sort of gradient v is a bit naff. The old fat chevron looked really strong and full and it was a bold look, this just looks pointless – seriously you could actually get rid of it.

(I will say though, the Victory V is a really unique element in world soccer, and although it will never hold the prestige of these other ones, it reminds me of other clubs with weird elements who are uniquely identifiable: The Boca Juniors' yellow hoop, River Plate's sash, Monaco's half and half sash, Blackburn's halves...)

The fat chevron was terrible. Went waaaay too deep which meant the sponsor ended up way down on the belly. Looked like crap. Adidas' second effort (13-15 seasons) was the best one we've had. The chevron was thinner and shallower (but still not as good as it could be), but there was still a bit too much white trimmings for my liking.

I reckon this current one, but with a full white chevron instead of the gradient, would be my ideal kit. All navy, no excess white bits, and an almost perfectly sized chevron.

YES YES YES YES YES YES YES!!!!!!!

Chevrons and sashes aren't great on the modern templates that cut off early at the shoulders

Victory would benefit from having the latest Adidas template with the stripes on the side. Give room for there to be elements like a chevron higher up.

Of course they should have just used the Middlesborough away template. Side stripes and a gradient chevron that is higher up and thicker and the gradient looks better than the faded out one they are using.
