Paul Keating would say we are a shiver looking for a spine to run up.
Paul Keating had more talk than substance. The man who increased our public debt to astronomic levels. Then only years later said it was his biggest regret.
Trying to get substance from words is like following a clown that actually talks.

Hi Mr Trump.

Hi Mr Trump.
Keating not perfect by any means but many classes above today's politicians. Had a vision for Australia and its place in the world that didn't bow down to the US at every turn. Howard stopped all that in its tracks. Downhill ever since. May as well be the 51st state of the union. Still kiss England's arse as well. Albanese also ordinary but Dutton would set us back even further.

Kamala Harris doing her best efforts to morph into the most generic Democrat candidate the longer this election campaign has gone on has been disappointing but, unfortunately, not in the least bit surprising to see. Gotta please them donors.
Yep, but her opponent is a cheat so we take the positives that we can take.

I doubt she can do much to save America, but at least she won’t accelerate the decline like her common gangster opponent would, and hopefully at least her election buys the country time till someone comes along who can address the rot more significantly.

Oh there's not a shred of doubt in my mind that she'd make a better President than Trump, and that her administration would mean a lot less trouble for the world than Trump.

I'm just not actually convinced that she'll get elected at all having turned herself into the most basic, standard Democratic candidate imaginable (despite her initial wave of popularity being on the back of her being a 'change' candidate)

Trump is a disgrace but regardless of who wins, US foreign policy will not change. We are in lock step with an extremely dangerous ally who is intent on using its vast military resources rather than engaging in diplomacy and peacekeeping. Marles fawns over the Americans and Dutton would probably be worse if that's possible.

I hate the LNP , but the Q election is a great result with the terrorist loving Greens left with nothing
Israelis have been terrorising the Palestinians for nearly 100 years, according to international law and the UN. Don't say this too loudly or the bully boys (and girls) will point the finger of anti semitism despite a large number of Jewish people (not Zionists), agreeing.

I was talking about the Greens

Looking more and more likely that Trump is going to be President, the Republicans are gonna have all three branches, and Trump will get to pick the next two replacements for the Supreme Court.

Diabolical.

But also... that's what happens when your party wins the popular vote in almost every election and you reward those voters by governing on behalf of donors and corporations instead.

Oh, and also there are just many, many, many, many bigots out there in the world, and half of them don't even know they are bigots.

Place is now officially a shambles. Only positive is war in Ukraine possibly ending. Hope he turns on his mate Netanyahu who will want him to fight Iran. Scary possibilities. Hope he dumps AUKUS but not holding my breath. Ugly human but Democrats rolled gold phonies.

Trump & Netanyahu will be an interesting bromance to watch. Obviously Trump shares Netanyahu's pro-Israel, anti-Palestine stance, which I don't like at all. But Trump is no neo-con so I actually think there's a chance he could be harder to persuade into fighting Israel's war in the Middle East than if a Democrat was in office.

Then again, he's also a mad man and is losing his already-diminished mental capacity, so he could just as likely be more into the idea of an all-out war in the Middle East than Netanyahu himself.

He hates funding a lot of NATO so hope you're right about Israel. I believe he can only serve for one term having already been president for one term before. Maybe he won't be as conducive to the pro Israeli lobby as much seeing he doesn't need their money anymore and they can't hurt him politically. Probably wishful thinking but Biden/Harris were paralysed by the lobby.

I’m not generally a politics guy, but Trump being president genuinely seems like a cheap parody movie that would have been straight to DVD.

Astounding that such a person can govern a country.. surely the U.S realises they are an absolute piss take of a country..
