Not a good week for Dutton. First he gets caught at a fundraiser, then made a complete fool of regarding the 'terrorist plots that weren't' and now he's got some very co-incidental expenditures going on

With an even slightly less biased press he’d be cactus.

Turnbull would be a good PM.....
As PM he rejected the Voice out of hand when it was first proposed, on the completely spurious grounds that it would be seen as a third chamber of parliament.

In doing so he gave enormous validation to Peter Dutton’s BS “divisive” accusations (well, you’re the expert on divisiveness after all, Peter) when the referendum came along.

Dutton already rolling over for Trump and showing his belly.

THE AUSTRALIAN: Opposition defence spokesman Andrew Hastie said he believed AUKUS was "a lock" under Trump, but he said it was vital the government "demonstrate a strong hand in future negotiations".
He said this could include a Ukraine-style offer of US access to Australia's rare earth resources.
So there's a couple of things that we coud be doing with the United States to strengthen our hand as things unfold...like a geopolitical take-off agreement with our rare earths.
Locked article:

Dutton already rolling over for Trump and showing his belly.

Hate to think what a weak hand in negotiations would look like.
Pay billions for subs (and other military hardware), US spy bases in Australia, US have a trade surplus with us, no tariff relief.....................

Hey would you like some of our rare earth minerals as well?
We know you didn't ask but, as a good ally, we'd like to help out anyway.

Just wait until Trump runs into Peter;
(ABC)

Opposition Leader Peter Dutton says there is "no question" he could secure a deal with Donald Trump for an exemption to the US president's tariffs on global steel and aluminium imports.

(All that's missing from Trump's playbook is the line...On my first day in office....).
And two day later we're the 51st state.

EDIT; I'd just add anyone who thinks they can form a firm and lasting agreement with a capricious sociopath in Trump is to put it politely, sadly mistaken.

if you're able to sit through this video without taking a break I salute you. Never has so many dimwits sat in a room. It's a terrifying look into MAGA and how they think.

You can mock the participants - but the underlying core of their philosophy, the utter lack of critical thinking and understanding is shocking.

Watched it the other day.

Sam isn't across a couple of things they bring up, but in general it's a bunch of naive, indoctrinated young people.

They also don't seem to understand how debates work. You need to dispute the opponent's claim, not come up and say that you're a religious fundamentalist or xenophobe and you think Trump serves your interests, which is in line with what Sam is claiming!

I'd like to sit with similar people, having been politically and religiously conservative when younger. Especially the ones who might want an overtly capitalist theocracy, using their own religion against them.

I think what appalled me the most was their utter lack of empathy or compassion.
