About half of the Dave Matthews Band songs are better live for some reason.
Don't Drink the Water and Halloween are two examples - much better live

2 CD re-release of their classic first album on one CD with live versions of most of the songs on the other CD from a gig in 1985. Great concept and one of my favorite releases this year.

Werewolves Of London- Warren Zevon (Stand In The Fire).

Sympathy For the Devil- Rolling Stones (Get Yer Ya-Ya's Out!).

In Your Town- Rory Gallagher (Live! In Europe).

Tattoo'd Lady & A Million Miles Away- Rory Gallagher (Irish Tour '74 (live)).

I'm So Glad- Cream (Goodbye).

I'll Go Crazy- James Brown (Live At The Apollo).

Knocking on Heavens Door - Guns n Roses (Live 85-93)
Gimme Shelter - The Rolling Stones

Moby Dick - Led Zeppelin (although the 15 minute drum solo wears off after a couple of listens)

Before I clicked this thread I was thinking Iron Maiden but it seems I wasn't alone

QOTSA - No One Knows (anyone who's seen them do this live and break into random solos and the like will know what I mean)
Then obviously there's Peter Frampton - Baby, I Love Your Way
